Back in January, me and DF used a certain US online shop to buy our Cinderella themed table name cards and place name holders. As we're in the UK we contacted the shop beforehand to arrange the shipping and paid extra to have the items shipped out of the States. The shipping was supposed to take between 4 and 10 days for delivery. We are still waiting! :mad:

The owner of the shop at first claimed that it had been sent and that they had "personally seen to it" that the items were on their way to us. She refused to tell us what method of shipping she had used or to provide a reference number if she had one. She is now totally ignoring all our communication and has been for well over a month however the shop is still up and running. We have now contacted our credit card company who are dealing with getting us a refund, however hey canot get any communication from her either.

I'm not sure what the ruling here on the DIS is about naming names on the boards, however I wanted to give out a warning as this shop specialises in fairytale type wedding accessories and so many of us may have come across it. If you want the name I am happy to tell you in a PM unless the DIS says I'm not allowed.

Sorry if I have worried anyone, other people's experiences will probably be very different from mine (the shop has actually won an award recently) however I couldn't stand by with this kind of treatment and not warn other Disney brides :)
 
OH NO! I am so very sorry you are dealing with that! That frightens me terribly as we are just about to order our invitations. I really hope it is not the place that we are looking at. If you could send me a PM I would really appreciate it. That kind of service is terrible and we all know that invitations are not cheap! I hope that the store comes around and eventually sends them to you, but it is so sweet of you to offer to not let us get caught by them either.
 
Are there any other shops you can use? Did you use a credit card for your order? You could call and have the charge reversed with your CC company stating that you haven't received the items and it's be xx days with no communication. Another thing that you can check out is the Better Business Bureau, you can file complaints with them.
 
Im pretty sure you can name the company-- but that is terrible to hear!!

If they sent it they should do what any other company does and stick a confirmation on it!! Also give you more info about the shipping method! THats ridiculous. I would continuously call them until they face their problems. Yikes that really stinks!! You could also file a complaint with the better business bureau here in the states. A lot of people check up on ppls reviews before doing business-- and since they arent cooperating the better business bureau will try and interefere and get them to solve the problem and if they refuse then it will go on their record. Thats always an option!

We have spoken with our credit card company and given them a full communication history (DF got suspicious after a while and has saved every email to and from!) They have to follow certain rules but we should be getting the money back soon. We have found another shop selling the same placename holders but not the table cards yet. Luckily DF's BIL is an artist and has offered to custom draw some for us, I just feel a little guilty asking him as he's got a new baby right now.
 
I would be very grateful if you could send me the name, there are very few companies that ship to the UK would like to avoid any dodgy ones. thanks.
 
In my opinion, give the business name, if it's ok by DIS. I don't see why it shouldn't be. We are allowed to talk about businesses for good services, why not negative.

I work in media and every business HATES bad press no matter how big & small - I saw say it loud & clear, but maybe I'm being a little too cut throat, it's your choice.

I just have been reading how many bridal scams there are and am amazed how corporations take advantage of this business because they know with weddings not many people have past experience or knowledge of the market to fall back on and this is one time deal for most.

That's why I love these boards - you get good referrals from past happy customers, more trustworthy than an advertisment.

Just dropping by to let you all know that our CC company has refunded the full amount into our account yesterday. DF checked his statement online and there it was. It's been annoying and made me pretty angry but at least we didn't lose out on our cash :)
 
if you could please PM me the name of the company too that would be GREAT! we're going to be ordering our invitations, place cards, etc. within the next couple of months and want to do everything possible to avoid having this happen to us!!!!! Thanks and I'm glad you were able to get your money back!!!
