Shop kick help

i just got my first-ever smartphone (yes, I know, welcome to the 21st century, lol). I have heard people talk about shop kick so I downloaded it and looked at the instructions but I still don't competely get what I'm supposed to be doing with it. How do I know what barcodes to scan in any given store? How do I get kicks from purchases? To quote the movie "Philadelphia," explain it to me like I'm a 4 year old, please. Thanks.

I've gotten about $200 in gift cards from shop kick in the last 11 months. That said, I've gotten only $10 since January.

When you walk in a store you get kicks (if available). There is a list for that store of what you can scan. Generally you can scan stuff from other stores too (so you can scan gum at Walmart even if it's only on the target list). To get kicks for purchasing, I think you have to register your credit card. For best buy I think the cashier has to do something special. I know for old navy I got them automatically But there is a long waiting period.

So I have to have the app running when I walk in to get the walk in kicks? And then where is the list for what you scan in the store?

Open the app before you enter the store. Most stores give kicks near the entrance. Some I can get driving by. Macy's tends to be hard to get. Once the app is open, under stores there should be a list of nearby stores with walkin kicks and/or scans. Pick the store then go to scans.

Do you scan the barcode of the product? Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse. I'm not very savvy when it comes to all the qr codes and stuff that requires a camera-enabled device.

Yes. Touch the product you are going to scan on your app and it loads your camera. Then scan the barcode. It takes me maybe 15 seconds from when I scan until I get my kicks.
