Shop Disney Parks Accuracy

My son has been saving his money for ages, and spending a ton of time trying to decide what he wants to buy when we get to Disney World. As a huge Star Wars fan, he was pretty interested in the plush Darth Goofy, Jedi Mickey and Stormtrooper Donalds I showed him on the app. But now... only Darth Goofy is left. Should I relax and assume that there will be mountains of plush Donalds and Mickeys beside the Goofys when we get there, or are they actually gone from stores, as reflected on the app?

I know this is a minor detail, but with Jedi Training Academy on break while we're there, he's had some disappointments in the Disney/Star Wars department and I want to set expectations low if necessary.

I bet they don't have anymore. Rumor has it that Disneyfying Star Wars characters, ie Jedi Mickey and Darth Goofy, won't be allowed anymore. It has not been officially announced by Disney, but CMs were told there would be no more character meals with them. I believe those got released for May the Fourth/Revenge of the Fifth and Star Wars Weekends 2015 in May/June. It's possible that they could start selling them again for the movie release, during Season of the Force, or during Star Wars Weekends 2016, but I wouldn't bet on it.

What store is Darth Goofy showing up in? You might want to post, maybe to the following thread, to see if someone going in person soon could check for you. There is the merchandise line that can get stuff in the parks for you too, but I can't remember the number. It will definitely show up in a search on the boards.

It's free shipping from the parks store ap right now. Maybe you should just order now to be safe. At least you could have Goofy for him. If the others are available when you get there, he can buy one too.

Thanks for the feedback - I figured I was simply being paranoid.

I just bought Stormtrooper Donald on Ebay for the same price as the parks had him. Hopefully he'll make it in time to stow away in our suitcase and surprise the little guy when we get there. Fingers crossed that he can still get a Goofy next week!

you can also try the outlet stores while your there its possible theyd have some even if the park pulled them

I have not found it all that accurate, but my experience is that it said things were in stock even though they were actually sold out. So if the app says it is sold out, it probably is, but even if the app says it's in stock, it may not actually be in stock.

It doesn't say out of stock, they're just not there anymore. But it does say that Darth Goofy is in stock, so if we can't find him next week, ebay might have another sale!

Just have to chime in about the accuracy of the app. When we were in the parks in September, they were showing a particular Dooney purse I had my eye on that was supposedly still available in limited quantities at the World of Disney. I hightailed it over there one morning only to be told they were sold out resort wide. I did show them that the app indicated that there was still availability so it could be updated. I kinda figured that was going to be the case so wasn't heartbroken, but the app is not entirely accurate.

I have used the app twice now, once to purchase a wallet and the other an ornament. Both were in stock and sent to me faster than DisneyStore.com. My problem came when updating my credit card. It was a real pain trying to figure out how to fix it...I eventually did but it wasnt easy. So far I like it but I wish they would sale plus size clothing or you could use that as a filter.

Similar story here. I went to Animal Kingdom looking for a specific pin that was not in stock there although the app said it was. I reported the glitch at guest services and the girl there adjusted the time on our FP+ that we skipped to come get the pin, gave us an extra anytime FP+ in case we missed our window, and told us she would figure out who to forward the complaint to. I wasn't upset - I just wanted to let them know the app was inaccurately reporting inventory - but I was really impressed with how the CM handled our situation and with what she did for us.

I purchased something with this app at Disney World with resort pickup. It never showed up at the resort and they said they sent it home. over 2 weeks later, it hasn't shown up at home yet. I have called disney twice and have been told they are working on it. Not sure why they just don't go find the shirt and send me a new one. They said the app is new and they are still working out the bugs. So beware

Same here. I also purchased merchandise to be delivered at our resort which never showed up. 4 days after it was confirmed to be "ready for pickup" - nothing ever arrived.

The package pickup CM issued me a full refund and said that they have been having lots of issues with the app - specifically with resort delivery. I have been using the app with "home delivery" successfully.

I have not seen any Disney as Star Wars character plush in the parks for ages. Recently, I've been to Watto's Grotto (formerly Darth's Mall) and Tatooine Traders. No plush, PVC, or any other merchandise like that with Fab 4. However, there was a Stitch as Yoda plush.
