should I? I start community college next year, and I plan on taking infant/toddler care classes, French, maybe Chinese, skin ethstetics, and shop class. I really want my mom to do it with me. She thinks it's just for boys, but I think it would be good for us to do. Besides, I can do anything any ol boy can do ;) She thinks we'll get in over our heads. Maybe so, BUT, you never know. And plus, I just wanna. What do you think? Should I keep trying to convince her, do it myself or forget all about it? It's way out of my element and I just want to see if I can. :thumbsup2

Go for it! I wish I could convince my daughter to take a shop class with me. :rotfl:

I took a woodshop class in junior high and was one of only 2 girls in class. We loved it and I still have the shoeshine box I made. Also took an auto shop class about 10 years ago (I would have been around 31 years old at the time) with the local ROP. Was just me and a high school girl in the class with a bunch of guys, mostly teens. Was quite a bit of fun.

Go for it!! You'll forever be able to surprise people with your knowledge of things that women don't traditionally know.

Oh, and maybe if you point out to your mom that you only live once and life is way too short to be held back by things like "it's only for boys", she might be more inclined to try the class, too.
