Shop-A-Holics - Do You Ever Do This??

So now that I've lost a good amount of weight, I can shop in any store I want.... and I do!! Though just because I've lost weight, doesn't mean that I've found extra money, so just because I WANT to shop, doesn't mean that I can afford to - at least not for EVERYTHING that I want.
Last night I found myself at Nordstroms purchasing a pair of UGG boots - yes, they were on sale ($89!), but in all truth, they didn't fit all that well, and I didn't really like them that much, and I have every intention to take them back. So why did I buy them?? BTW - This was after a shopping spree at Anthropology in the morning.
Does anyone else do this?? Do you buy stuff, knowing that you will be taking it back? I'm not talking about wearing it to a party and THEN taking it back, thats totally different, its just like.... you want the high of the buy :lmao:

Anyone else???

ETA - Just wanted to put a disclaimer on here that the items purchased are in no way intended to be worn and then taken back. I think thats just wrong!

I used to do this allll the time. I still do it once in a blue moon, but my new strategy is to carry the item around for a while and really think about whether I really want the item, need the item, can afford the item, etc. More times than not, I end up putting the item back. I'm trying to purge the excess in my life, no need to add more junk that's just going to sit around and never be used.

I do this too. But I try to visualize picking up a bunch of stuff instead of actually doing it, because it's kind of embarrassing having a bag full of stuff at B&BW and then putting it all back. That's what happened to me last week...I saw the cozy socks were 50% off, so sweet, I will get a few pairs..that's $8, right? But then I was thinking, well..I do have a $10 off $30 coupon, so I might as well buy some more stuff since I was already planning on spending $8, for $12 more I can get $30 worth of stuff...so I started walking around the store, getting a bunch of sale items. Well...it wasn't too hard to pick out $30 of stuff. But then I realized, I don't really WANT to spend $20 here, and really don't NEED anything. :rolleyes1 Including the socks I came in here for. :rolleyes1 So I started discreetly putting the stuff back (where it belongs of course) but it was still a little embarrassing going from a bag full of stuff to nothing...Anyway, I try to shop in my head and window shop whenever possible!

To make a long story short, they have extremely similiar socks 2 in a pack for $3.50 at Walmart, I ended up buying those instead.

This is totally the shop-a-holic support thread. :cool1:

Does anyone else also LOVE to online shop and fill up carts and never hit purchase? I would of course buy everything if I was loaded..but I am not loaded.

Gymboree is one of my favorite stores, so I will go and fill up and online cart and plan outfits of what I am going to buy. Every now and then I do hit send though...oops, didn't mean to hit that. :rolleyes1 I don't like to return things though, I do keep everything for the most part... Anyway, I plan out my carts and outfits and get my shopping fix that way.

But, online shopping is so great because you get the high twice, instead of just once. You feel awesome when you get the great deal when you ordered the stuff, and then again when you get it. It's a 2 for the price of 1 deal! :rotfl:

I usually buy with the intent to keep, but sometimes I'll let it sit for a few days and decide that I really don't need the item. I just returned two Wacoal iBras that I bought on Black Friday for $20 each (normally $54 each). When I went to return them they were now $12 each but I knew I didn't need them because I bought 5 when they were $30 something. It made me sick, I had to leave the store immediately.

OMG I always do that!!!! Fredricks of Hollywood, Gap, Old Navy, Zappos, Anthropology - anything and everything - I LOVE fake internet shopping - how sad I am!!!

Also, another reason I actually purchased the boots last night was because the girl went to the back 3 times to get stuff for me. Truthfully, I didn't ask for the stuff, it was all at her suggestion, but she was really nice, and helpful, and I didn't want to seem "rude" by turning down all her services.... makes sence..... right???

I actually haven't returned anything but I find my self having to have a bunch of bags to carry. If I am not carrying a bunch of bags after shopping it bothers me. Its like the more bags I am carrying the better I feel. Its weird.

Oh, Lordy! B&BW is the worst - they suck you in with those coupons and sales! I could open my own B&BW store with all the stuff I have from them!

And now if you excuse me, this thread has reminded me that I need to check Disney Online! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2:

Heck no, I am your polar opposite. I loathe to take things back.
Of course not a "shop-a-holic" either.;)

In fact I finally got out TODAY to start my Christmas shopping.:rotfl:

Nope. I never buy anything unless I intend to keep it. The only time I return anything is if it was a gift and didn't fit. I don't see the logic in buying something that you know you will return. It seems like a huge waste of time. Then again, I'm not a shop-a-holic and only go to the store to buy what I need. Shopping doesn't give me great pleasure. It's just a necessity.

No real comments on the shopping just that that price of $89.00 for the UGGS is awesome. :thumbsup2 I have seen them out here in SoCal in all the stores and everyone buys them and everyone wears them and not once have I seen them for less than $199.00!!! That was a GREAT deal you got!!!! ::yes::

BTW, I have no interest in Uggs! They are not my thing!
