Shooting in Tacoma, Washington Mall

Wow, it's on the news right now (Fox) that there was a shooting in a mall in Washington. Alleged shooter still in the mall and anywhere from 5 to 18 shots have been fired. Mall is in Tacoma.

Talk of a suspicious package too.

wow. For a minute there I read that as teh Mall (as in the big grassy/muddy land between the Capitol bldg and washington monument).

Doesn't make it any less tragic, though.

I edited so no one else gets worried that it might be in DC. One is as bad as the other, but if you've got a family member in DC, it might not be to you.

It did catch my eye b/c that is where my hubby works (though he is home right now) and my dad and step-mom live up there.

Thanks for the update. Thank God no one was killed, though it looks like at least one is seriously injured and thank God they made an arrest.

Was president Bush behind this? I know a lot of people blame him for everything else so I was just curious if it was him.

I almost skipped church this morning so DD & I could go shopping there (we would have been there when it happened! I felt guiltym so we decided to go after church. We got off the mall exit about 30 minutes after the shooting (we had no idea) and the area was a ZOO. The blocked-off area had a really large radius so we were thinking it was maybe a gas leak. Shortly after we got home we found out what had happened.

That's the last time I think about skipping church to go shopping!!!

Latest update sounds like all the vctims will be fine, thank goodness. Keeping the families in my thoughts/prayers tonight. Very scary!!

DD had a soccer game in Olympia, WA and I had planned to stop on the way home. Needless to say, that didn't happen as it was still blocked off at 4:30 pm. What a scary thing to happen. Debby
