Shooting hoax at Magic Kingdom

That's pretty horrible. What would bring somebody to do that?

Sociopathy ;)

My whole thing is... if she called 911, it would have gone to the closest jurisdiction and if she was in the panhandle, it wasn't anywhere near Lake Buena Vista. Also, if she called 911 the number and location would have been traced if she was on a land line which would show that she was no where near the MK parking lot. Lastly, if she called a non-emergancy number for a shooting.. wouldn't the police think it was fishy in the first place?

I have the local police and fire programed in my phone.

our 911 is pretty good - but the one time I needed it I call 911 and they send the police to a FIRE?

anyway he did get the fire department..... :lmao:

I can't imagine a teenage girl would have the OC police non-emergency number programed in her phone. And again I stress, if someone was shot, wouldn't it be fishy that they called a non-emergency number? It's a LOT faster to dial 911 than to search your phone for police number.

I've called 911 a lot since I got my cell phone. I've witnessed a dozen car accidents and two fires.

(A lil OT for the fires, one time fire trucks drove past the smokey building twice and we were kiddy corner from the fire department :rotfl2: )

I know this is OT-- but what i find unbelievable is that poor chinese woman in the top right of the news site! :rotfl:

She will definitely face serious charges for filiing a false police report and for calling 911 when it was not an emergency...hope she likes the consequences!

Technically, it wasn't in/at the Magic Kingdom - she claimed her father was shot in the parking lot, so that would way over on the other side of the lake...

Anyways, hope they catch her, and at least make her pay for the cost of sending the deputies/tracking her down, etc. Then they should take her phone away and smash it :rotfl:

Ditto!! It doesn't seem ones belly could actually stretch that big!!

As for the prank caller, who knows what teenagers are thinking some of the times???

Hi all,
Not much of a surprise here.We respond to dozens of fake 911 calls a day.About 2 years ago a young lady around 19,she thought it be funny to call 911 and report a police officer was shot dead in front of her house in brooklyn.A FDNY Paramedic unit responding to the call was broard sided by a very drunk driver, when the drunk did not stop for a red light, the paramedics had a green light going lights and sirens(later a camera recording was found to prove this) and one of the paramedics died from his injurys 1 week later. his partner was forced out of his career on a injury disability. The call was fake, The drunk later got 19 years and the 911 caller, this 19 year old girl was found and arrestied and got 2 years in jail.In court this girls parents cried foul and said the city was singling out Thier daughter. :sad2: The defense said that she heard gun shots and thought maybe a cop was shot,in a very residental area of brooklyn,no one else called 911 to report gun shots fired, when this does happen there are usally around 5-9 calls to report this. She took a plea bargin and admitied she got high and thought it be fun to see police and ems units pull up to her house,so the nieghbors would think she was very sick and feel bad for her.She admitied she really never heard any gun shots. The paramedic killed was andre lahnes he left behind 4 kids and a wife. His partner to this day is confined to a wheel chair. So see how a harmless joke Prank call turned deadly.I hope they arrest everyone who ever uses 911 as a joke And i hope they catch this one too.

I think that girl should be charged with his death and have to pay for everything his kids need. MUHAHAH! ;)

I think it is sad. As growing up during the Columbine time, there were a lot of false reports of bombs and the like. The school got sick of it, and one day piled all 1500 of us in the gym and arrested the prankster right in front of everyone after we all had to sit in the gym sweating and not talking for 3 hours (while they searched the school). The threats didn't stop, but they became less frequent.

Whatever happened to bored teens FINDING things to do? I remember as a teen having a blast just going to friends houses, swimming, playing board games like Monopoly, listening to music - just hanging out and having fun! We didn't need to do prank calls or prank anything. I never worked as a teen, except for babysitting, because my Mom had to start work early in life and worked hard all through high school. She wanted me to just have fun, and we did - without getting into trouble! I just don't know! :confused3

First off, I am not attacking what you said.

This bothers me (not that you said it, but that many people feel the same way as you). I was a good kid, almost everyone I knew where good kids. We never did that stuff. I think, unfortunately, that there is a lot of this bad publicity going around about kids. So there is a stereotype being created - that all kids are bad and engage in bad activities (define those as you may).

My parents feel the same about kids today (of course my little brother and sister are bad apples). But I know many teachers, other peers that I go to school with and the like.

I will also add (this is a personal feeling I have and it does NOT apply to everyone in this situation). I think many people are having children and are not ready for it. Therefore the kids grow up a certain way, not being rewarded correctly or punished correctly. I worked in several middle and elementary schools and I seen many young parents or parents who showed no interest in their kids. And their kids were either trouble makers or extreme people pleasers. Many of these kids just get diagnosed ADHD and are put on medication after medication, none of which work (which to me means maybe they aren't ADHD).
