Shoes with dress code

Hi all,

Again getting nervous about the dress code. I'm taking a collared shirt to change into, and will be wearing dress shorts (not cargo shorts). However, I realized that the Nike tennis shoes I would be wearing in the park might not be acceptable at either Monsieur Paul or Flying Fish.

Should I wear a slightly dressier shoe, like a Clarks shoe? I've worn those on a day of touring the parks, so that wouldn't be a problem. The only guideline I see for shoes in the dress code is no flip-flops.

You will be fine at both. Not sure about tennis shoes, but sneakers are OK :) Youll see all sorts of attire at every restaurant.

But given the choice, Clarks beat all! Love Clarks, they are the only shoes I ever wear. I have every color of every style!

Most people don't dress up for these restaurants anymore. They just go with what they have on during the day. I would not stress it.

My husband always wears tennis shoes/sneakers/gym shoes with shorts and a collared shirt to Flying Fish and it's never been an issue. We haven't been to Monsieur Paul but it's in a park so I'm sure most people will have on sturdy walking shoes.

We once saw a woman get seated at MP in cut-off denim shorts, a midriff t-shirt, flip flops and full viking face paint. It seems anything goes at park signatures!

Agree with PPs. The only true fine dining establishment at WDW is Victoria & Albert's. The rest keep in mind that you are dining at a theme park, so people will dress as such. I've not done Monsieur Paul, but have seen very casual at Flying Fish. Personally, I wouldn't want to pack extra shoes for only 1 or 2 meals, so I'd just wear the sneakers.

As people have said, you will be fine. Even flip flops are fine. I didn't even realize it said "no flip flops" on the dress code. I have worn them to every signature meal I've been to and no one has batted an eye.

Go with what you feel comfortable and dont worry a bit about it. We ate at CG 2 times week before and saw all kinds of stuff against the "rules" open toed shoes for one and some of the clothes, ugm....why even post it if they are not going to enforce it? You will be fine, go and enjoy!

Just wanted to follow up, as I ate at MP yesterday afternoon. I wore a button down, dress shirts, and tennis shoes. Not an issue, and I saw a lot of sandals/tennis shoes. Even tank tops and what was more park attire. So i worried over nothing, as usual!

I had the summer special discovery prix fixe menu - it was absolutely amazing. I could eat the watercress soup and chocolate/raspberry/hazelnut cake all day long. My server had only been there a week so there were a couple of small hiccups, but he was very sweet. Meal took two hours from seating to walking out the door.

I can’t wait to go back to MP and try other menus/items!

Glad all worked out fine on the foot apparel and more importantly, food
Darn it! I've longed for watercress soup throughout the summer and I guess it's all in FL. Glad you appreciated the sacrifice, LOL. The dessert sounds worthy of the eating as well:).

We have been to Monsieur Paul several times and you will see all types of attire there.
While they state they have a dress code, basic park attire is acceptable.
Flying Fish again has all types of attire. However, since it is not inside a park, in general it seemed people were a little more dressed up (still very casual). Probably because they had a chance to go back to their room and change.
