Shoes? Sandals? Flip Flops?????

I am looking for some comfortable shoes that come in a wide width. I am having trouble finding anything in a wide width. Does anyone have any suggestions. I usually wear sneakers with socks but I would love to find a sandal type shoe in a wide width.

:thumbsup2

What have you had the best luck wearing for long days at the park? I personally love wearing flip flops all summer long and the kids usually just wear them too. But I dont know if that will give enough comfort for all the walking. Any suggestions? Would socks and sneakers be too sweaty in 80 degrees? Plus any type of water related ride (I know theres not many) would result in wet (YUCK) socks and sneaks. And before they are suggested, while I appreciate the croc lovers out there, I am not one and neither are my kids.

I wore the Teva Mush, flip flops last trip. They were awesome! The only problem I had is with people stepping on the back of them sometimes, and usually those people were my own children :headache:

Flips flops all the way. I am a diehard flip flopper. I bring sneakers but usually only wear them on the plane. I would go barefoot if it was allowed.princess:
:rotfl: Well I have even resorted to wearing flip flops anytime I fly, even in the dead of winter. Much easier when going thru security at the airports!
I used to wear socks/tennis shoes/sneakers years ago, thinking that would be the most comfy....then my feet got wet on a water ride :scared1: Never again.

(had to remove the link-not enough posts yet:sad2:

Darn it,I went to the Zappos web site for this picture. I want more Mephistos:sad1:. Maybe next month-yes, the sandals will be my prize for giving Uncle Sam money.

I totally agree with the Mephistos- really expensive, but worth it, I have been wearing one of the my assorted pairs for over 6 years, and they are still fabulous. So I guess 150 bucks over 6 years=bargain

Also Teva flip flops, they have GREAT arch support unlike most plastic flip flops. I broke my toe the first morning in Disney:eek: and the Teva flip flops saved the day- nothing squishing my toe- and we did Epcot with a minimum of hobbling (is that a word?). I love you Teva maker!!

In Stride Rite store the other day, they had kid and toddlers velcro Tevas for around 35 bucks and buy one, get one half off. Perhaps they can be found cheaper elsewhere, but for quick drying and ease of on and off (ideal for DS4 and DD2), Teva can have my money any day

I have several tennis shoes sandals that is wide width. There are Skecters,
Soho, Easy Spirit and Earth Shoes.

I bought the Easy Spirit tennis hoes sandals at Marshell's. Use to work for HomeGoods which part of TJ Maxx INC.

Earth shoes tennis shoes sandals I got from Wal-Mart.

I have a pair of Dr. Sholls tennis sandals from Wal_Mart to.

There is plenty of places to find wide widths sandels. Also try payless shoes they have a airwalk off brand Keen's .

Crocs!!!!!!! They are the most comfy shoes in the world! DD11 has the Disney ones and can't wait to wear them there in November. (We'll break them in in Jamaica next month...) They are very wide, and even on my wide feet they are more than roomy enough.

This week I bought a pair of Easy Spirit Traveltime slip on sneakers (open back), from zappos.com. I wore them today without socks for 4 hours walking around St. Augustine. They were comfortable and my feet did not get hot. I have wide feet, they offer alot of styles in wide. They ship overnight for free & if you have to return, they pay for return shipping.:goodvibes

My very favorites are the Shoes-Which-Shall-Not-Be-Named ;) , but I do have some others that I like and have worn in the past.

-Clark's suede athletic-type sandals (although they are murder on the feet if they get wet)
-Birkenstock one band slides
-flip flops- the platform type (lots of cushioning between the pavement and my feet)

I just tried on some Adidas flips at Dick's Sporting Goods that I might have to get for WDW walking. They are fabric uppers, and there is some kind of gel in the sole that feels nice and squishy on your feet. They conform to the shape of your foot and are really cushy to walk around in.

I also want to get some Rainbow or Teva Mush flippies to try this fall.

I think I may check out the adidas sandals and I just googled the Tevas- they look comfortable too! Thanks

I am also a fan of flip flops and easy slide in sandals, but my concern with children and lost shoes on rides make me more inclined to always put my kids in secure sandals during the warm months. My kids also like to take their shoes off and having a strap makes it harder for them to "slip" them off. We like Merrell sandals, Tevas and Crocs (with the Micky mouse cut outs). I would strongly advise against any flips flops or sandals with no support. I did Haviana's at Disneyland last fall and it makes it hard to run after my then 1 year old. :) Ecco and Merrell make great sandals for adults.

I like my Crocs, my Reef flip flops, and my Haviana flip flops (even though I haven't had a chance to wear them for an extended period yet). However, I love, love, love my Teva Msuh flip flops. They are the ones I usually always wind up in.

I looked up the Tevas and yes, they do look comfy. I am going out this weekend to the sporting goods stores to try on some things.

My 13 year old daughter and I are Keen lovers! We wore our Keens at the Park for a week last August. My 11 year old daughter has a pair of Privos by Clarks. Also very comfy!
I wear my Keens (waterproof!) for walking on all vacations, dog walking and teaching pre-school!
