ok, so it is supposed to rain for part of our trip, maybe all of it. I hate walking around in wet shoes/socks. I have some crocs( disney ones), but I am worried about slipping. I dont want to wear rainboots. what shoes should I get for a rainy day in disneyland?

Well if its going to be really raining hard, and you dont want to wear rainboots, then you probably will have wet shoes and socks. Unless you want snow boots.
Target has some rain boot shoes. they are weather proof and dont look like your typical rain boot.

Hope that helps :)

I actually bought a pair of those rainboot shoes at Target... They are quite comfortable... And not too hideous looking. Will be trying them out this weekend.

yea they look more comfortable then wearing an actual rainboot. & good to know :) i might have to get myself a pair!

I have a pair of black snow boots, similar to hiking boots, that I wear when it is expected to rain a lot (but you really can't tell what they look like when I have jeans on over them). Then I bring a pair of tennis shoes and extra socks to change into when it stops.

If you don't have boots that you are comfortable in, just being extra shoes and socks and put them in a locker. Then when the rain stops, you can change and have nice, dry feet again. Keeping my feet dry is worth the price of the locker to me. ;)

After our last trip in the rain,(with soaked sneakers!) I bought Crocs rain boots for DD and totes overshoes($10) for DH and I.They fit right over our sneakers. Granted they are not the best looking footwear in the world, but walking around DL all day demands comfort over fashion and I couldn't do 10 hrs in a rain boot.

We leave tomorrow and expect lots of rain for a couple days. Don't have anything to keep our feet dry and little time to get something! Have 3 tween girls who will complain about cold wet feet but won't wear anything thats not stylish!! Too expensive to buy them all waterproof shoes or boots that they'll wear. May have to just go with baggies over the socks.

Wonder if scotchguard will work on sneakers?

Most Crocs are great for the rain. They are comfy, and dry quickly. They make all different styles. I like the flip flop ones.

The only problem with rain this weekend at DL is that it is also going to be cold.

If it's warm enough, I usually wear tevas or sandals in the rain - and totally avoid the sock issue. Of course, I avoid socks in general, and have already started wearing sandals daily :rotfl: but if it's not going to be cold, it's always an option.

Otherwise, I'd probably say Crocs - I've never had a problem with slipping. They seem more grippy if they've been worn in a bit. DD has slipped in them on deck on one of the DCL ships, but those decks are rubber to begin with and easy to slip on even barefoot.

Don't wear the Crocs in the rain...or you will end up like me last December: slipping & falling & ending up wet + sore :headache:

I agree Crocs are unsafe in wet conditions. I would wear river sandals....I like Chacos, and keep warm shoes for the evening in a locker, especially if it stops raining.

They're not cheap, but Nike Free +2 with the shield work very well in wet conditions. I wore them on my last trip when it rained our last day there. They double as great walking shoes and your feet will stay dry, I promise.

Not in winter when rain is rather cold. For me, I really don't like walking around with wet feet no matter what the season!

Me too! They were worn slick and were very slippery!

Eek! Mine were brand new, and I STILL managed to fall on my behind...in the fog...on the bridge over GRR...I'm happy, though, that it was merely uncomfortable + embarassing & not anything that required medical attention. (Better to land on a heiney than on an arm or a leg!) No Crocs in the rain ever again for me!

We just wear our rubber slippers if its raining:

which we always bring for the pool anyways. We're accustomed to wearing them in our everyday lives so we don't slip ... and since its rubber I don't think most people would. :confused3 They don't provide any support so I prefer sneakers if its not raining, but if we know we're going on GRR we often throw them on for a half day around the parks to avoid getting squishy socks/shoes.

My whole family wore various styles of crocs on our last trip with no slipping problems. It was the end of march, so was on the colder side. But we do live in Colorado, and I have been known to wear flip flops when there is snow on the ground.

This will sound a little corny but it really does work good. 20 years ago when I played football my coach told us to bring extra socks to our game because it was supposed to rain (pouring actually). Then he handed out plastic bags and told us to put on one pair of socks, then the plastic bag and then the 2nd pair of socks. And man did that work. Despite a downpour the whole game we had warm/ dry feet after the game. I have since used plastic grocery bags and they work too. Your shoes get wet but your feet are dry and warm. And the extra padding in the shoe helps prevent blisters as well.

Oh yea a rubber band around the top of the outside sock helps keep water from getting in as well. But don't make it too tight and don't put it on just the bag (with no sock between your skin and the rubber band) or you may cut off circulation.
