shoes help

I have soft orthotics that I must wear all the time. I also have some pretty strong sensitivity issues in my toes, where I can't stand to wear socks, and I prefer open-toed shoes. At home, I've been wearing KEEN shoes, but I can't imagine wearing them in the Florida sun in August. (Plus, they don't look very good with shorts or skirts. Anyone know of some supportive sandals that can fit orthotics? I have some Aravons, but they have a heel and I can't have even a low heel anymore due to ankle and foot pain. The key is that they're supportive and that they bend at the toe, and that they will fit my orthotics. A removable insole is best, but if there's room for the orthotics without removing the insole, that's fine too.

I *can* wear closed toed shoes, but I'd prefer to find some light sandal-type shoes so my toes can be free.

I don't know if you have seen these or if they would work for you, but Keen also makes sandals. My oldest DD and I have both bought shoes a couple of times from Zappos.com
Their service was great, the selection too and the price isn't too bad. They were fast and if there is anything that doesn't work out, you can return the shoes.

Thanks Sue! I have an REI near me that sells KEENs, so I'll check them out this week. I want to get the shoes broken in well in time for my August trip.

My MIL has othotics an I know how much problem she has finding shoes.
