okay, so i have invested in some good shoes for our upcoming trip in May...

I bought a pair of Keens for dh, myself and both our girls and a pair of Teva Mush flip flops for each of us as well --- i also got myself a pair of Crocs Capri flip flops ---

will these be enough for us or do i still need to pack socks and tennis shoes??? i just cannot imagine walking around in heavy tennis shoes all day and i would hate to have to pack 4 pairs of clunky tennis shoes just to take up space...

any advice???

I mostly wore a pair of Gekkos (Regular style-like Crocs). Water shoes at the Waterpark and I did bring a pair of running shoes-only wore once or twice for two weeks.

okay, so if you went for 2 weeks and only wore your tennis shoes 1 or 2x and we are going for 1 week --- hmmm...i am thinking of just ditching the tennis shoes altogether...

DH and I both brought tennis shoes last year and they never left our bags, we loved our Crocs too much!!:rotfl: My advice is to not pack them! Just make sure your keens, tevas and crocs are all comfy for everyone!

okay, great...thanks guys...i don't think i am going to take the tennis shoes ---

i have been making sure that we all wear our new shoes atleast 1x a week so we can break them in before going...so far, so good...everyone loves the Teva's and the Keens have been great as well...no blisters or anything...we are really impressed with both brands...

I wouldn't bother this next trip, but I will have to as we are going in October and I will need them getting to and from WDW. I have to keep my feet warm. Maybe I can get away with keeping them in the van and switching before going into the airport.

I have to pack lighter this time as we now have to pay for our checked bags.

Last trip I was so glad I had my tennis shoes. I wore my Crocs to AK the first day. I had worn these around home and our local amusement park all summer and had no problem. I don't know if it was the uneven pavement or what but I got a bruise about the size of half-dollar on the top of my foot where the Croc hit with each step. I had that bruise for 6 weeks after the trip so it was a pretty deep bruise. I had a pair of Teva sandals that I tried to wear the next day - the strap sat right across that bruise and really hurt. I loosened the strap so that I could wear them but all that happened then was the sandal moved up and down making the bruise worse. So I had to wear my tennis shoes the entire trip. If I had not taken them, I'm not sure I would have been able to do all the walking since this happened on day one of a nine day trip.

I just ordered two pair of Teva sandals. DH has a pair of Merrell sandals...he said that he doesn't want anything else. I'm wondering what I'm going to get the kids to wear. My son will not wear crocs.

My DH will only wear tennis shoes, so he alternated between two pairs the entire time we were there. My girls and I wore our Crocs every day but one day. The one day we all wore tennis shoes, we had sore feet and sore legs. With the Crocs, we had no problems at all. So this trip, the girls and I are each taking two pairs of Crocs -- leaving the tennis shoes at home.

i got my 2 girls, 13 & 7, each a pair of Keens --- the Newport H2 style --- they really, really like them --- i bought myself the same style and dh's are slightly different --- the keen's are super comfy...

i was able to find them on sale at Dick's Sporting Goods for 39.99 for one of my daugthters and i found mine at Bass Pro Shops on the clearance table as they were 2008's as opposed to the 2009's, so i got them for $45 off ...

i was only able for find 1 daughter her size at Dick's so i ordered the other pair from RockCreek.com...they had them on sale for 37.95 ---

SierraTradingPost had Teva Mush for under $10 a pair for men and women!

wow...that's a great price ... i got ours for 13.15 from rockcreek.com as they were 2008 strap colors as opposed to 2009 ---

i am off to check STP to see if the sale is still on...

We went yesterday and tried DD a pair of Keens. She really liked them. I found them at Gander Mountain, but at $50 each I'm looking to see if I can get them cheaper online.

Last April I wore my tennis shoes most days of the trip because my feet actually felt best at the end of a long day when I wore then vs my Teva sandals. We are going memorial day week this year and i am thinking of wearing my Teva sandals only this time and here is why..
In April we had not one single drop of rain but since we are heading into the summer season this time I hate wet tennis shoes and in the Tevas my feet will dry quickly. The kids will be in their crocs:thumbsup2

On our last trip, we all wore our tennis shoes the first day we arrived. We went to MGM for about 3 or 4 hours before closing, and being caught in one of Florida's random rain showers, we got wet! After slushing around the park the rest of the evening in our wet Nike Shox, we were miserable! We all wore our Crocs for the rest of the trip, and had no blisters or sore feet. Crocs are also good because they dry out quickly, unlike tennis shoes. Our tennis shoes weren't dry for the rest of our trip!:thumbsup2
