secondly we have scheduled in a mall day and i was wonering if anyone had any favourites ?

we all want converse and dd typically wants hollister goodies but as we dont have a car i was wondering which is gunna be the best and easiest one to get to ?

I don't wear trainers so can't help on that, but for waterparks I would seriously consider crocs/skechers (beach style that won't be uncomfortable if wet) or some flip flops. You do want something at the waterparks as the ground can get scorching hot :headache: as we discovered a few years ago but you also want something where if you have sand in them, which will happen, you can stick your feet under a tap and rinse them.

Same goes for AK if you plan on the Kali River rapids where shoes must be worn but WILL get wet.

Crocs (I like the Mary Janes) and Skechers.

It is very personal preference and some people are much more comfortable in trainers. I am used to doing a lot of walking and wear high heels every day so I guess crocs won't hurt my feet. Fit flops are popular but I can't keep things on my feet if they don't have a strap.

What kind of shoes would you normally wear if you were going to the beach for example, but planned to wear shoes and do a lot of walking?

BTW, I only said I don't wear trainers because I just don't wear them. Not because they are a bad idea at all. Again, personal preference and nothing more than that.

i hve crocs clogs but find them hard to keep on - was thinking that the mary janes might be worth a look - i had skechers for our trip to paris and although my feet ached at the end of the day i think they would have done anyway as we walked a lot !!

I wore the skechers cali mj's and the crocs mj's. Like you, I am forever stepping out of my cayman style crocs which is annoying to say the least. The one thing about the mary jane crocs is that I found the sole is not as thick as the sole on the 'ugly' ones :lmao: so if you are not used to pounding the tar all day they would probably get to you, but as I say, I do a LOT of walking and have to do it in my work shoes, which are heels so I guess I may not be the best person to ask (don't want you to be saying bad things about me at the end of the second day :rotfl:)

I just know that soggy shoes are not something I would want to wear in the heat so keep in mind what rides you are going on for the day when you put your shoes on.

I would think trainers would be fine for Epcot, MK and DHS. Also good for AK if you are not doing Kali River Rapids.

Hi. I'm not sure I would get "new" trainers to wear! My feet take time to adjust to any new footwear and walking round WDW with really sore feet is not good! Also they may be pretty battered by the end of your trip!
We usually wear our old, trusty, comfy trainers and buy new ones so the old ones can be thrown away at home! Just to be a bit personal, mine are usually a bit smelly after 2 weeks of hot sweaty hours of walking, and with water rides water soaking them too!! :rotfl:

i do the school runs which are 20 mins each way twice a day and as we have just aqquired a dog do lots of walking with her now :)

i am going to buy some £2 primark pumps and on ak day take them in to change into on kali river rapids as i have been warned !!

will check sketchers as well - the plan is to buy them in the easter holidays and break them in before we go in the house i want them all nice and clean for when we go - sad but true :lmao:

Oh very good point. Yes, break those shoes in. You don't want huge blisters. In 2008 I got blisters even though my shoes were broken in anyway so I would never dare take brand new ones The heat and moisture makes my feet swell I think and they rub.

Just my two cents but we bought merrels to wear for our trip last year and did not wear them nearly enough in the house before we went as I also wanted to keep them looking nice. Ended up not wearing them more than once on the two weeks and wore my old pair of skechers because my feet were just too sore. So you need to break in shoes well because you think you walk alot at home ( I have a dog too) but its not just the walking its the standing around as well that can hurt your feet.

As for water parks we have used water shoes that you can keep on in the water (not on some of the rides) they look not unlike the ones divers wear. Not the most attractive but they keep you from getting very hot feet and the ground in some of the water parks can be a bit rough.

have got the watershoes and have decided to buy the trainers sooner - if i wear them in for 9 weeks that should be enough hopefully also ordered some crocs off ebay any excuse to shop :lmao:
