I let my dd 12 choose which resort to stay at for our upcoming trip, I gave her choices between the values and the moderates. She chose All Star Sports over the mod resorts. Oh well, its her vacation!

I could easily see where a kid would pick a value over a mod. The values are like Red Bull for the eyes.

We just stayed at the All Star Sports and loved it!
The pools were great, hit the food court several mornings, always had a great breakfast
We actually liked it better than the All Star Movies, although we did venture over there on check out day so my boys could check out the Toy Story section

You should thank her for saving you money. We love the values, and stay there on our week long trips. When we go for more than a week we split our stay between a value and a mod. One thing, make sure that the ime you will be there is not a time when there will be a big group of kids there. I.E. Pop Warner, or cheerleaders. ASsports can get a little crowded at does times.

Also, as much as I love my mods, I still love the All-Star music resort quite a bit. It was my first Disney resort and I love being able to get my Mickey waffles there each morning!

You guys are lucky. Mine always say BW, BC and poly. They turn there nose up at Wl because the pool slide looks boring.

My DS11 also chose Pop over moderates. i guess i shouldnt complain, cause he is saving me money. Lol. Kids huh? Very odd.

My kids always choose POP over any of the other Values or Moderates. They are old enough to relize that the money saved can be used on other things.

LOL my daughter always chose Pop over any moderate. As we say around our house, Pop is gloriously cheesy and my daughter loves it.

She's finally (at 16!) ready to give POFQ a shot. I am thrilled!

When my DD was 7 she chose ASMu over WL Yet I can see why. That is one thing the values have that appeals to kids: In-Your-Face-Theming. I knew she may not want to stay at one of those resorts as she got older and I was right. So I am glad we did it. We had a great time

When I took my GD for her first WDW trip, we did a split stay at WL and AKL. A few months later I took my younger son and D-I-L (her uncle) down there and my D-I-L chose Pop. When we got back, my son was showing my GD pictures of their trip and my GD gave me a disgusted look and asked why didn't we get to stay at the 'fun hotel'. I took her back a year later and we stayed at Pop. As we were walking out of the main building toward the pool, heading to our room, she spun in a circle with her arms wide, grinned from ear to ear and said, "Now this is a great hotel. Thanks for bringing me here Nana. I love you." She was like 9 y/o at that time.

I know the feeling. We are staying at ASMu because it was ds10's choice. I love the values so we are happy with his decision, but it just makes me laugh. When I was a kid my dream resort was WL not an All Star resort.

When I had priced out the Boardwalk, I had sticker shock when I was up to $7500 for two people for a week, and I hadn't even factored in the airfare! So we will be staying at the POP. I think my 9 y.o. will love it.

Yes, your 9 year old will Love it! My daughter loves the POP, we have stayed there several times.

I agree with RoseRoni2. I stayed at Pop in '09 and LOVED it! I loved the different themes throughout the resort. I think any kid would have a great time there. Just walking around the resort make an adult feel like a kid again by seeing all the retro and novelties from decades ago. Tarffri have fun and enjoy!
