My wife is looking to make tye dye shirts for our upcoming trip and she is looking for a large mickey stencil for the middle of the shirt. Anyone know where is a good place to start looking for stencils to print out?
THank you!
Are you trying to make the tie-dye shirts with the Mickey Mouse heads described on the DIS Arts and Crafts forum? (Where the Mickey is basted with dental floss around the perimeter....)
We just made a bunch of these last week - and they turned out great! We used a Cricut cutout of the Mickey head from the Mickey font cartridge cut at 9.5". If you don't have access to a Cricut, you could just trace a dinnerplate and two cups (for the ears) to get the general shape and size you need.
If you are looking for more of a silhouette of Mickey, you might try googling "Disney coloring book pages" - there are a bazillion images on there you can look through and find/print what you are looking for.
See if we can get to it today, otherwise, we'll send you pix later.
They did turn out great - use dental floss (ask D about the minty goodness!), and pull the floss firmly when tying the MM head off. (We couldn't get a finger into the bottom of it - you'll see - when we finished.) That's how tight we made it. We also used waxed paper to separate/then wrap the MM head from the rest of the shirt.
The directions on that t-shirt thread are pretty good and we followed them closely. And I hear you are using the good Procion dyes from Dharma - they are wonderful - very vibrant.
Nope - Not yet - a certain someone spent *days* obsessing on what colours (yes I spelled that correctly c.o.l.o.u.r.s.) to get - they should be here in a few days. We will be dyeing next week...
