Shirtless men (rant/possible debate)

Men can go topless, women cannot.

Woman shave their legs and pits, men do not. whaaa, they have to shave their face IF THEY CHOOSE, not our fault we don't grow facial hair, but if we did, I am SURE the social standards would force us to shave our facial hair.

Men can shave their heads, or grow hair to their ankles, and they are accepted publically. A woman wants to chop her hair, and some people make assumptions.

Hmmmm. I wonder who established these 'rules"?

And don't forget high heels and pantyhose! I bet you a hundred bucks it was a man who invented them.

Um isnt there a rule that says women are aloud? Maybe in Ohio (thats where i live) because it wasnt "fair" for only men to be aloud. Im pretty sure. I know we have this hippie fair every year and women walk around without tops. But ive always thought that though its legal, i bet cops would ask you to cover up. But not force you too. Hmm.. maybe ill give it a try and see what happens lol. If i get caught, i was doing research.
Actually you are right... at least in Columbus' limits, it's legal (last I knew) to go topless no matter which sex you are.

Not that I'd ever want to... wouldn't be very comfortable for me to go w/o a bra ;) But some places it is perfectly legal for you to go topless... as long as you don't "disturb the public" with your outfit

They have nipples just like a woman does

I don't even like to see half the shirtless men when I am at the beach....its always the ones whos backs look like rugs that are running around shirtless...its just GROSS!

We've been talking about this a lot at our house. My son knows that no self respecting man goes anywhere in public(other than the pool or beach) without a shirt. We laugh when we see them and my son says, "gross!"

It doesn't bother me at all that men of all sizes and fitness levels walk around shirtless. :teeth: I'm not bothered by men wearing speedos though either. :confused3

Behind our school, where I park my car each day, a new building is being built. I never saw a building being built with steel girders and cranes and all kinds of equipment. It's interesting to watch. There are tons of shirtless men working over there. I like our parking lot. :teeth: If there were tons of shirtless women working over there, I don't think I would care, but I sure am glad it's shirtless men. :teeth: I like that new building. :teeth:

Anyone else just think it's so wrong for men to be able to go shirtless in public, while women get virtually stoned for "costume malfunctions" (think Janet Jackson here)?

I'm so sick of walking down the street, seeing a shirtless 250+ pound man with ****s bigger than any woman's, hair all over his back, chest, and stomach. How is that any less offensive than a woman going topless? Why are people so offended and outraged by an occasional glimpse of a nursing mother's breast, yet won't blink at the sight of a man's C-cup ****s hanging all over the place?

Maybe if society would stop objectifying women, we wouldn't feel so threatened at the sight of a bare breast, but what I want to know is how is it fair that men have the freedom to decide this?

I'm with you! I think you should feel free to be naked whenever you're in my town.

Personally I do not like seeing anyone except maybe babies, small children, without proper clothing on in public. Your own home/yard/beach is one thing, but to go to a store with no shirt/shoes is just low class in my opinion. When I was a kid my mother taught my 3 brothers to always wear a shirt and shoes when going out, she didn't care how hot it was! My husband insists on mowing the lawn shirtless, even though I must say he is rather in shape, and very muscular, I don't think it's appropriate, just wear a tank top I tell him. Now as far as the weight issues goes, nobody is more entitled to wear more or less clothing than another.

Seeing plumbers butt cracks is more offensive to me than shirtless men.

This is an easy one.

A guy sees an attractive topless woman, and gets turned on. Ok, she doesn't have to be topless. Or, for that matter, attractive.

A girl sees a topless man and gets turned off. Unless she's ill. Or has cataracts. Or, she thinks, "That's a nice sweater."

What it boils down to, is control of libido in public. Potato sacks for women. G-strings for men (with sandals and black socks).

HAHA yes! Columbus RULES! And man its true about Christians and nakedness. Im a Christian. I mean, thats the way we were meant to be, naked. I think it would be neat if everyone was naked always, reguardless of how good they look. Because then nudity wouldnt be such a big deal. But what do i know, im a dirty hippie.

PSh, yeah right! Cool things happen in Columbus everyday! Like, we are a fat city, so we get to test all the new fatty foods! And last week that lady and her prisoner boyfriend she helped spring from jail and killed the guard, well they came and got caught in a motel right here in columbus!!

Ummm ... not sure either of these make your city look any better

well obviously you dont know whats cool, bc I love Columbus. We have a lot of stuff here to do. And i like it. And i dont know why you are being so mean. We like to eat, deal with it. Murderers live here, deal with it. You are just jealous because Columbus is better than whatever mystery city you live in.

And we even can pee standing up :teeth:

Back to topic:
Exactly my opinion: I detest men going barechested in the public. There were even men at Topsiders Buffet on the Disney Magic wearing just flip-flops and a shorts  IMHO even tank tops aren't the right attire for a restaurant, but no shirt at all :scared1:

I would actually rather see a plumbers crack than a gorilla backed shirtless man. I don't like chest hair on guys but back and shoulder hair repulses me so much!
