Shirtless men (rant/possible debate)

That is SO funny because I almost started a post on this yesterday....its bee SO hot lately that I've been seeing so many men walking around without their shirts on. I saw a businsesman the other day with his business suit slacks and belt on, but no shirt. :earseek:

I'm willing to bet that businesesman didn't want to get his dress shirt all sweaty and smelly. Not that it makes it okay but I bet that was his reason.

Outside of pools/beaches and your own home/yard, I do think men, regarless of fitness level should always wear a shirt.

There was a case in 1971 that came before the NC Supreme Court. The bare bones of the decision was that if it was legal for a man to walk around without a shirt, then it was legal for a woman. You'd probaby still get hasseled by the police, but they wouldn't have a case.

ITA!

I do not enjoy watching a shirtless man who is obese and has bigger breasts than the average female walking down the street.

Well...I think women probably admire good looking muscular men without shirts.

Those men are few and far between, though. And I don't know if I've ever seen a guy like that just walking down the street with his shirt off. And if I did , I would just assume he was arrogant. For most women (I can't say all!), a guy in a really great outfit (even if it is simply jeans and a t-shirt) is much more attractive than a guy with no shirt on.

I don't see a lot of shirtless men around here, but I do see a lot of young guys walking around in those white tank top under shirts, usually with saggy pants :crazy2:.

ok am i the only one who can see the headlines now,,, twins arrested in topless case blame over exposure on a internet chat board dedicated to disney........

that said, i agree men should not go with out shirts, i run a construction creew, mainly residential remodels, and i will warn a guy once,, after that me catching them shirtless is a firing offense. the people are paying us to work, and are not expecting a display of flesh.( of course it helps that my other supervisor is female:))

In Ontario Canada it is legal for women to go topless in public as ruled by the supreme court so no I don't have a problem with the laws and rules as they are here where I live.

hahaha. Pshh, we wouldnt get caught.

I don't have a problem with men topless in public and not women. (As long as the man is a hottie!!!!)

Now there are times that are appropriate and times that are not. No shirt, no shoes, no service--should be honored!!!!!

Where thy top in establishments.

I don't think that there should be laws making men wear shirts, but I don't enjoy seeing shirtless men, even if they're well-built, anywhere that it's not necessary (e.g., at the beach, pool, etc.). My own DH wears his shirt unless he's swimming. He wears it in the house, when he's mowing the lawn, and when he works out. And while he may not have a well-defined 6 pack (I'm a really good cook :rotfl: ), nothing jiggles or sags. I just think he looks better wearing a shirt, and it's courteous to keep your clothes on.

I'm always surprised on shows like America's Funniest Home Videos when they show a video where the men are sitting on the couch topless. Why on earth would you be half undressed while someone was using a camcorder?

I don't have a problem with topless men or women in public as long as they are perky. Who wants to watch anybodys breasts bounce off their knees when they walk.

I like what Red Green said about overweight shirtless men:

Don't do it -- it scares the children and confuses the babies.
;)

I see nothing wrong with men going shirtless. I also see nothing wrong with women going shirtless. In fact (and I beleive I speak for most red blooded American males out there), I beleive very strongly in a woman's right to go shirtless.

So ladies, let me make this clear. If you ever feel the calling to send Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee to the land of boing-boing in public, I will completely and enthusiastically support your right to no support.

I don't think men should be allowed to go shirtless either. Wait, there should be a rule! You're only allowed to go shirtless if you're really muscular. Yeah, I like that.

:earseek: I am shocked that you would speak this way. ;)

I wonder if Ward and June would be shocked. ;)

Actually, I've often thought that Chirstians can get a little to hung up regarding this topic. While I wouldn't actually propose that everyone run around naked, I am not sure why we dwell on nudity so much when talking about what is right and wrong.

It was mostly the boing-boing that threw me for a loop. :rotfl:

I agree. You don't have to be a prude to be a good Christian. ;)

Men can go topless, women cannot.

Woman shave their legs and pits, men do not. whaaa, they have to shave their face IF THEY CHOOSE, not our fault we don't grow facial hair, but if we did, I am SURE the social standards would force us to shave our facial hair.

Men can shave their heads, or grow hair to their ankles, and they are accepted publically. A woman wants to chop her hair, and some people make assumptions.

Hmmmm. I wonder who established these 'rules"?
