We are leaving in a week, bought colored shirts to match our magic bands and I bought the "transfer" paper for colored shirts from AC Moore.

We are a family of 5. If I purchase and download a decal from a vendor online, they send it to me via email. A friend of mine is going to print them on her home printer or can I go to Staples and get them printed? If my friend is going to print them, do I have to send them to her email? We need 5 (of the same) decals. Do I have to buy 5 of the same decals or do I just use the same one I bought? Thank you

One image can be reprinted on a new sheet of "transfer paper" as many times as you like.
(Like printing multiple copies of any photo, etc.)
It is the sheet of paper that can be used only once per transfer.

If you have the the transfer paper (or buy it at Staples, Office Depot, etc.) the office supply store can print the copies on the paper from your image file, if they have the right kind of printer.
Then, you'd do the iron-on yourself, of course.

I haven't done these for a few years, so maybe someone with more recent experience will chime in... I seem to remember mine needed to be printed on an inkjet printer. Read the instructions for your transfer paper carefully to see if that is the case. I did them on my printer at home a couple trips, then I had to have a friend print them when we got a laser printer (and now my DDs would consider matching shirts an extreme form of punishment, so I had to give it up, lol).

People have had mixed results at Staples. Some employees will print Disney images with no problem, while others refuse to print anything like clip art or images that may have a copyright. But, I would bet the printers at Staples are laser, not inkjet, so that may not matter.

If your friend is printing them, you could either email them to her, or put them on a flash drive (or if you're actually going to be at her house, just open your own email to retrieve the image). I don't know why you couldn't print the same image multiple times, rather than buying it five times. I'd suggest playing around with it to change sizes if the shirts will be drastically different sizes (bigger for Dad's XL shirt, smaller for little princess's 3T shirt).

I also thought I'd throw it out there that the Creative DISigns board has many wonderful designers who share images for free! You might find something you like there (they'll often personalize images for your family, as well) without having to order and pay for an image.

Thank you, is the Creative DISigns on this forum?

Great advice from @poohfriend77! If your friend prints for you, ask her to choose the highest quality print setting. I also choose "print photo" because it just makes the image that much more vibrant. So, you might want to be there with her, and y'all play around with the settings, printing on plain paper first, until you get a sharp, vivid image.

Oh! A little tip - make sure to wash the shirts first with no fabric softener. The transfer will adhere much better.

I found it, thanks
Great! That would be the best place to ask questions about how to do the transfers too. Like I said, it's been a few years (so I don't know if the same designers are hanging around) but everyone was so helpful on that board!

Remember also that there are two different transfer papers. The ones for light shirts are printed in reverse, and the ones for dark shirts are printed as normal, and you take the backing off before you iron. We do these every year, every trip. Wash you shirts inside out, and air dry to keep them looking good. I usually use pictures I have taken then added to, for instance "See Tonga, Eat toast."

Thanks for the advice on washing the shirts. I was going to just iron them on on the brand new shirts.

Wow, you're talented!

What a great idea! I'm definitely going to remember this for next time!

The cast members love it! We were nearly famous at Cap'n Cooks. We wore t shirts with the Animal Kingdom sayings when the walls were up, and Cast members asked to take our pictures.
"You're WEARING our walls!!!"

It's probably one of the most clever, creative ideas I've seen!!! I wouldn't completely steal your idea, but I might borrow it. :tiptoe: After all, isn't imitation the sincerest form of flattery? Using creative photos does open up a whole new world of ideas...
