Shipping Weights of Gowns??

I need some help on this one....my soon to be hubby and I disagree on how much a wedding dress packed for shipping is going to weigh.

I know it is going to differ depending on the dress and the amount of tool etc....I am wearing a traditional dress.

I was wondering if anyone has had their gown weighed and shipped and if so how much it weighed.

I am trying to figure out if it is better to ship it or buy a plane ticked for the dress !!!

I flew Delta Soing and took my dress on the plane. We didn;t have to buy a ticket is fit in the overhead laying flat across. the airline was very helpful so try to contact them first.
