Shipping water to your hotel

I was just wondering if anyone has shipped any water to your resort/hotel. My husband and I were thinking of doing this or possibly bringing water in our luggage in ziploc bags. I have heard of people somewhere on the boards shipping from Costco, how did this go, or if you have packed water in your luggage, is this a good idea? We are flying Southwest and I know they dont charge for extra bags so this is an idea we were considering. Thanks :)

We placed an order with www.gardengrocer.com

We got 2 cases of water and a lot of breakfast stuff-- cereal, milk, muffins, donuts, juice, and some snacks for the kids' fanny packs-- raisins, fruit by the foot, and I forget what else.

We're on the DDP, so I figure we can do a light breakfast in the room before rope drop.

For my sister's trip last week, I ordered her 2 cases of water from Staples. I had it delivered to her resort with "hold for guest arrival on 6/19" on the address. I think the 2 cases came to about $25, though I could be wrong.

I order from Costco.com. You do not have to be a member and it's way cheaper than Staples (it's $7/per case/including shipping). Go to the website and search Bottled water.

We always ship stuff to our room. I do water bottles, juices, snax, breakfast stuff, and any other stuff I don't want to pack. Then when we come home most of it's used and we don't have to ship it back. We usually do 2 small/med boxes thru FED EX for about $60. This is soooo much easier. Also, call your resort and get the address and what you need on the box exactly-with your family name on there. I do it about 4 days before we leave and it's always been there when we arrive. I love doing this. Now, For fruit/milk I just get a few at the resort and that's about all we need.We do ME so we don't have a car.More relaxing for us that way!!

Hi, thanks so much for the info. How exactly does this work with shipping, I know it is free because I went on the Costco website. But do you specify with Costco the exact address of your resort? We are staying at CSR. Have you ever had any problems with the water arriving late? And how many days does it take, we are in Niagara Falls, NY so would we be shipping from Florida to CSR or not? Sorry about all the questions, we have never shipped water, and I am pregnant, so I know I will be drinking lots of water in the heat. Thanks! :)

Keep in mind that most airlines have a 50# weight limit on bags that you check, and water is HEAVY - I don't think you would get much water in your luggage this way without having to pay the extra handling fee (not sure what Southwest is, but for some airlines it's $25). If you must have bottled water, then I recommend having it shipped to your hotel ahead of time or doing a grocery order service (if there are other items you'll want in your room).

Order the water about 4 business days before you arrive. It should be waiting for you when you arrive. In the address spot, write in (or type in, I should say!) your name c/o _____ Resort with the Resort's address. The water ships locally so it won't be coming from NY. If you order 4 days beforehand, your water should be WAITING when you arrive. Never had it be late.

By the way...Congrats on your pregnancy
