Shipping tenting stuff down?

Hi everyone! I have the chance to go to the fort next month to do a little tent camping but the only way I have to get stuff down is in 2 checked bags (flying southwest) or mailing stuff down ahead of time. I know people successfully mail water and/or food stuffs down to the world all the time BUT how do you mail things back? I won't have a vehicle to get to a post office or anything of the like...

Has any one does something like this before?

You do a pick up service with Fed-ex or UPS, I think most people use Fed-Ex for that.

Just watch your weight on the items. You've got up to 50 pounds per bag with Southwest, and try shipping some of the lighter items as you're paying per pound.

We've done it many times. Flying Southwest you might not need to send anything... You get two checked items (tent plus supply bag), plus a carry-on(clothing). Sometimes I send the tent and supplies down ahead... I use UPS. I send it down about 6 weeks ahead of time. Send it directly to Ft Wilderness to yourself in care of the fort; and put your arrival date on the address. It' really very easy.

I fly SWA b/c of the free bags. I can get my tent & air matress in one suitcase. The next suitcase holds sleeping bags & pillows & mallet. 3rd suitcase my clothes & toiletries. 4th son's clothes & breakfast & snack stuff. Once the food is gone, there is space for souveiers. I weigh my bags before I leave. Just an FYI - You NEED an air mattress. !st time down didn't take one b/c the description said sand lot. ended up being a very packed sand lot. It was like sleeping on asphalt. I'm a roughin it kinda camper, so for me to bring an air mattress is a big deal. You will LOVE the campground.
