I am trying to budget a trip with a 1 year old in mind. We'll be going to WDW for about 12 days, so if she's still in diapers & eating baby food, I'll need a bunch of supplies. Would it cost less to buy from home and ship to resort, or buy from netgrocer, or stop at grocery store or Walmart near DW? We'll be renting a car, but DH doesn't like to venture too far or too long. I also like to buy a lot of souveniers. I know I can ship as much as I can fit in one box from WDW for about $15 or $16, but what about from the outlets? Do the outlets provide shipping for a cost, or do you have to go somewhere outside with all your stuff to do this? Is there a place inside any of the malls to do this? I hope so, because otherwise, I won't be bringing any clothes with me, cause I buy too much when I'm there, they probably won't let it all on the plane...thanks!

There are retail shops close to WDW, so just drive there to get any grocery/baby items. Don't waste valuable suitcase space on that stuff.
As far as shipping what you buy home, you can do that. Be cautious of anything breakable, though. We once had something break and you wouldn't believe all the red tape to get a replacement.
Try your best to pack light so that you can use space for what you purchase. If you're staying onsite, there are laundry facilities available. Make the DTD Disney Store one of your last stops and then buy what you've seen throughout the shops there. It has most everything offered. They will help out with shipping.

Consider buying unique clothing items (they pack flat); maybe a bauble or two for yourself (they're small and can be worn on the flight).

And remember, your camera will provide you with the most important souvenirs of your time there with baby !

Have Fun !!

I second what Dzneelvr says about being careful what you ship.

Alot of people don't know that UPS is self insured. From my Ebay experience, I know that what that means is they will sell you the damage insurance but if you file a claim it's a real hassle and they will fight you. They denied my claim (the buyer took digitals of the damage with the UPS driver in the act of trying to deliver the badly mangled packaged and emailed them to me) and they still denied it!! I had to email UPS the pictures and write a nasty letter before I got my money back. This is their standard practice. Deny and if the customer insists then pay. If it's valuable or a snow globe, go with Fedex Ground and don't forget to insure.

If you are a DC member, definitely shop at the World of Disney in DTD! We purchased a large amount of souvenirs at one time to ship home. With the DC discount, we got 10% off. That 10% virtually paid the cost of shipping, and no sales tax was charged either. Plus the merchandise was insured by Disney incase anything broke.

This worked so well, that I plan on doing it again next trip!:):):)
