I have a box of special infant formula(glass bottles)for our 9m/o daughter that I'm thinking about shipping to BWV in advance of our trip. It's a rather large sized box, weighing about 100lbs. Has anyone shipped things to BWV,or any other Disney resort for that matter, this way? UPS ground seems to be the cheapest route(@$65),which they claim can take anywhere from 5-7 days. Who would I make the package attention to? And if it arrives before I do will the package be in safe keeping until I claim it? I'd appreciate any suggestions from anyone who has done this and learned from the experience. Many thanks.

I'd call member services to double check, but I think you ship it directly to the resort you'll be staying at. Make a large notation on the outside of the package of your name and arrival date. I also think there is a charge from Disney for receiving the package.

Again, I'd call MS to double check.

We have had groceries shipped to DVC resorts before. They are always waiting for us when we arrive. As chuck said, be sure to include in the address, your name, Guest Arriving on XX/XX/XX.

While it was not the case for us in October, I have heard more recently that one hotel after another is now charging for receipt of packages. You may want to call your hotel and check before hand so you're not surprised by the fee.

You might want to check to see if you can buy the formula at an online grocery store and then have it shipped directly to the resort. I'm willing to bet the shipping charges would be less than $65 and the glass bottles would then be professionally packaged.

I'm not positive but I always thought UPS had a weight limit of 75-80 lbs on single packages. If you already have an estimate for your 100 lb. box then I must be mistaken but it wouldn't hurt to double check.

As for shipping to the resort, there have been posts about a charge of $40 for receiving shipments, but none of those were at DVC resorts. Again, it wouldn't hurt to call the resort directly and find out for sure. Address the package to the resort but somewhere on the shipping label write 'Guest name:' and 'Arrival date:'. After it ships I'd also call the resort and have them make a notation on your reservation that you're expecting a package. I did this for our trip in November and at check in I was told it had not only arrived safely but that it was already in our room. Very convenient. :D

Good luck! :D

I've read in other posts about a charge for deliveries, but this might have applied to persons paying cash for their stays, we DVC owners may be treated entirley different with this just like we are with phone calls. I guess someone will have to check with MS:pinkbounc

You're right normr. I called BWV and they said there would be no charge to accept the packages. The person I spoke to gave me BWVs address and I was also advised to include my full name(the name the reservation is under) and check-in date. The packages are held until your arrival date. I shipped my daughter's formula along with some dishes via UPS yesterday. I'm told it will arrive wednesday, just 3 days prior to our arrival. I hope it arrives safely. Thank you all for your input.
