Sorry if this question has been asked numerous times before. I couldn't get the search engine to work for me this am.
We are going to DW in Aug and I would love to ship some food to the resort since we are flying. Has anyone done this before? Do we have to be at the resort to get the package or will they leave it at the front desk? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! :cool1:

Call your resort directly to get shipping information; they'll tell you exactly how to do it. They'll hold your package for you until you arrive.

Be sure to leave enough time for your package to get there (at least a week to 10 days ahead of time).

Be sure to factor in the cost of shipping things into your "equation." It makes sense to ship things that are lighter (not things like bottled water, since you pay freight costs by the weight of the package!). We shipped a box of things last year, but could easily have done without shipping anything head of time, since we had the town car service stop at a grocery store on the way to the resort.

Another option is to bring a box of things with you as checked luggage. Most airlines allow you to have two checked items up to 50 pounds each. That way, you wouldn't have to pay for shipping.

Hi

I noticed from your post that you are staying at POR, so are we! I actually called the resort directly last week since we too will be sending down snacks for our DD because of food allergies. I was told to send the package via UPS (not USPS, don't know why???) to POR, 1251 Riverside Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Also you need to write somewhere in large lettering on the package:

C/I 08/__/06

(fill in the date you are arriving in the blank, ex if arriving on the 5th of Aug, C/I 08/05/06) this tells CM when you are arriving and they will hold the package for you.

Have a great trip!

Have you considered having groceries delivered? I use gardengrocer.com. They have a great selection, reasonable prices, and their delivery charge is a flat fee of $10. They even have cold things like milk, yogurts, etc. They will deliver it to your resort and if you are not there luggage service will hold it for you, they have a fridge for your perishables. THen when you get back to the resort call luggage and they will bring it to you! Cheaper than sending boxes.

Oh, I forgot to mention. If you are staying in a value, bring a collapsible type cooler in your luggage to fill with ice for your milk, etc.
