Shipping box to BLT

We will be taking our first trip "home" next month to BLT. We would like to ship a box down early with some diapers, food, etc for our DD. Can someone who has done this before share their experience (good or bad)? How long before your arrival did you send it? What did you put on the mailing label to ensure your box found you? Thanks!!

FYI, I had a gift delivered at BWV for Christmas and the resort charged us a fee.

I usually use UPS ground about a week prior to arrival. I address the box to myself with (GUEST) after my name and label the box with my arrival date and reservation number. I've never had a bad experience when shipping things, though I haven't done it in a few trips. (Thanks, Owner's Locker!)

This was just a few months ago. DH said the charge was from the business center. It was $3 per box and you had to pick up when the business center was open. I don't know if every resort has a business center (or if this was because BWV has that as part of the convention center), but there was nothing about our package that should have directed it there. The $3 wasn't that bad, it was just that we had done this at non-Disney hotels before and weren't charged.

You will be charged a processing fee at BLT, BWV, and BCV. The fee is based upon weight and size of the box.

If you go to any shippers website, they have a transit time calculator that you can use to figure out how far in advance to ship the box.

We shipped a box ahead for our October trip. I had HOLD FOR GUEST and my name written on the shipping label and highlighted along with my check in date. Like Caroline, our box was taken to the business center and we were charged as well. When I asked why it was there and not at bell services like when I have shipped to OKW, we were told that is their standard practice.

I have shipped to SSR and picked it up without a charge.

I also bought a return label and shipped the box back home. It saved suitcase space/weight both ways!

The reason for the fee is because Disney out sourced the business centers to IKON Business Solutions. Their contract allows them to charge all Guests a handling fee at the resorts that have a business center.

Similar to Valet being out sourced.

BTLSam, thanks for asking this question! I apologize for hijacking your thread.

I would call that business center to check the hours in advance. When we did it they were not open late and I think they were closed on Sunday, so you want to be sure you get over there ASAP on Saturday.
