Shipping Ahead

I haven't done this yet, but was planning to ship juice boxes, snacks etc. but then some one pointed out the cost of shipping vs price difference of buying in the parks is pretty much equal, so now I am just not sure...
Sorry, I know I didn't help...

Last time I shipped a box it was $19, I used UPS (not the USPS). I had 12 water bottles, 1 box of CapriSun pouches, granola bars, crackers, Pringles, fruit snacks, then in an xlarge ziploc bag I packed sunscreen, shampoo, hairspray, deodorant, lysol wipes, baby powder, bandaids, moleskin, and scissors ('cause at the time I didn't know the TSA rules for scissors).

HTH!

Well, I packed a LARGE box full of evrything we would need that took up way too much room.
I packed full size shampoo, diapers (we had a little one) breakfast items, snack items, juice boxes, souvineers that I had bought at the disney store, tons of sunblock, ect.

It cost me $25 to ship it UPS and was worth every penny. There is absolutely NO WAY I could have bought all those items in the park for the same money. It saved me a fortune. I also ordered juice, milk, bottled water, and baby food from garden grocers. THAT was expensive, but worth it for our special needs.

I shipped some "adult beverages" (we dont drink a lot - so I had some plastic bottles - and poured some of what we had in other bottles :rotfl2:) breakfast items, glow sticks, snack munchies - cereal (pretty much went into my cupboards and put things in ziplock bags) SHOES - they take up so much room!!

Now I've read where some of the resorts are now charging a fee for pkgs shipped - so I'm going to try wegoshop - but they just raised their fees! :confused3

Ship a box more to have the exact products you want, or get liquids at your resort w/o any airline hassles, because shipping costs can be high....
Sometimes airline, extra bag fees are less!

I shipped in the past to have sunscreen available within a short time from arrival (picky about type.)

This year I packed some liquids in my checked luggage and ordered from Gardengrocer.com. Other people like wegoshop.

It's all about what is most convenient for your trip: many gift shops have grocery items, but they're a bit pricey. If there are specialty products you want, I would ship!

I just shipped a box for my upcoming trips. It had a 12 pack of bottled water, diapers/wipes, snacks (crackers, indivdual bags of goldfish, etc), individual cereal, granola bars, etc.

I figure it will save us so much eating breakfast in the room (we'll get milk when we get there) and having water so we don't have to buy 2 bottles every time my family is thirsty!

Thank you everyone for your replies. So far in my box I have a coffee maker, coffee, filters, (we are staying at POP so no in room coffee maker). I will also pack our robes and an over door organizer.

I have to order specific foods from a grocery delivery due to a specific diet my dr has me on but I think I will go ahead and pack some non-perishable snacks in the box. Hopefully I can get what I need and some cokes and bottled water and stay under the first tier for delivery.:)

just to let you know Disney is now charging to receive pkgs.

We shipped a case of water down and they after we signed for it the guy goes now are you ready for the kicker you have to pay me 10 dollars for your box. He said all resorts aare supposed to charge it. $5 for a smalll box and 10 for a large and up from there. He said the resorts with the Business centers charge the most but all are supposed to be charging now. Ridiculous!!:wizard:

I guess a case of water for $17 is still better than $60 if purchased ind at the parks but still that a lot for a case of water. Good luck to you:wizard:

Thanks for the heads up. I think I may just take an extra suit case as the checked bag fee is only $15. :confused3
