Good Evening!
I've gotten so many good tips and ideas from this board so I know someone will have information I need. We'll be on the DREAM 3/25-28 but are flying in the day before and staying at BLT for one night. I'd like to send a package to the resort (wine and goodie bags for the kids for Easter) and pick it up that Thursday and then re-pack our on-board day bag. We're only doing carry-on because the college kiddo needs to be back at school by 4 pm on Monday and O'Hare is a crazy airport even at the best of times. So, my idea is to Fed-Ex the package @ March 16 to arrive by the 24th and to call BLT and alert them. Too early? Too late? I appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!:thanks:

Anyone have any thoughts? It seems that it should work, just wondering if anyone met up with any obstacles...

We sent box to our resort prior to our first cruise. If I recall correctly, we sent it to arrive there about 3 days before we got there. Had no problem with it. Just be sure to mark the outside of the box "hold for arrival (DATE)"

Just be aware that they will charge you a fee at BLT for accepting packages and you cannot ship wine unless you are a licensed store.

Good catch. Yes, you can't ship wine. I didn't know that BLT charges to accept a package. I hope it's not the same elsewhere. Ours was several years ago, and there was no charge (to Port Orleans).

I know that BLT, CR and GF do because of their attachment to convention centers.

Correct, the convention center resorts charge a handling fee for receiving a guest package; I think there may also be limited hours for package pick-up at the convention centers. Those resorts are GF, YC/BC, BWI, CR/BLT, and CSR. Packages shipped to any other WDW resort should be free and available at check-in, assuming the package has arrived.

OP - the Resorts Forum has a thread about shipping to WDW resorts. That will give you the correct address including to mark your package, as well as some other tips.

Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks so much..I knew I could count on getting great information. Now I have to figure out how to get the couple bottles of wine down to Florida. Maybe one of us will have check a carry-on size bag!

How long are you staying at the resort? Could you purchase the wine after you get to Florida?

We land @ 4:30 and have a 7:20 FastPass for Buzz (a 15 year tradition for the college man!). We're staying Thursday night, having breakfast the next morning at the Wave and heading to the port. We want to bring the Rosa Regale, which is $57 on the ship (I think that's what it said on the in-room gifts page); we can usually find it at a monorail resort shop, so that is an option. The frugal me likes the fact that I found it for $16 at our local liquor store! If I order at wine.com and have it delivered to the resort, I would think that would work...yes, no? Thank you!

I think your best option would be to check one of your carry ons. If you use Magic Express, they would deliver it to your room, or if you have other transport, you could claim it when you land. We have done this before, and it seems to work out decently.

If you do that, between the shipping and the resort fee, It'd be as much as buying it it in the gift shop.
