Has anyone ever had the ship leave port early - I am thinking of booking a trip to a neighboring Bahamian island checking to make sure we would return to dock well before the last Disney shore excursion gets back, but then started thinking, what if...
Has anyone ever had this happen and what time did you leave port?

Arrival and departure times at ports can change for a variety of reasons. Though I don't think it happens often. However, if you know DCL is running an excursion that returns after yours, you should be okay. But there is always that slight risk of a problem when you book excursion on your own. If booked with Disney, they would hold the ship if your group runs late, or if they cancel an excursion and leave port early, you're not out any money.

On one of the islands our departure time was changed. I don't remember why it was, but I think it was about 30 minutes.

On our Princess cruise, we were told to call the ship!!! if that ever happened. Got the impression that they would hold the ship if they knew you were on your way because something unforseeable had happened in port.
