Shingles.!!!

I had shingles in my 30s, and it was awful. Fortunately I only had it on a small area. I got antiviral medication right away, and it still took about a month to go away. I used ice packs on the area and it helped some, but other than that I just let it run its course.

When I went to the doctor, because of being so “young” for shingles, the first question was had I been rolling around in poison ivy.

I can add, in my personal experience, the second dose didn't bother me at all - neither did the first.
With that being said, I've never experienced anything other than a sore arm/bit of muscle discomfort when getting any vaccines, so it may just be that they don't bother me as much as others.

Same for my husband & me. We had sore arms for a few days, just like with any vaccine. I had heard all the horror stories, so we got both doses on a Friday, prepared to just lay around all weekend & had easy to prepare foods ready. And no need for any of it, we were fine. Everyone reacts differently, I hope people don’t let others horror stories stop them from getting it.

Timing is important for the 2 dose booster, notsoDearH had to repeat that twice (4 shots).
My mother still got shingles after her doses, but she is very auto immune comprised.

Okay, I was wrong about having shot before her light case of Shingles...not that long ago...so....now the two of us might have them together. I am taking care of a lot medical in August with my new plan plus having my parents to make sure that I am okay after all the shots and tests. Good times this month coming...maybe this fall I be lighter and healthier for soon single life.
