Hi everyone! I'm curious if anyone has been able to walk up and sit at the sushi bar at Shiki-Sai without an ADR? We will be a party of 2 adults. Thanks for any info you may have!

Not for the sushi bar, but we got a regular table without an ADR right when they opened for lunch (party of 4), although we had the option to order whatever sushi we wanted.

Don't know the exact answer but when we were there for early dinner several weeks ago, we sat in the dining room but noticed 2 different couples that seemed to walk right over to the sushi bar. Now it's possible they had reservations but it didn't seem that way. It was around 4:00 p.m. and we especially noticed it because my daughter ordered some Japanese pancake-y that she is very familiar with from Japan trips and her Japan students and went bonkers when she saw on the menu. She was told she could go over to the grill to watch it being made (kind of special) and it was where the sushi was being made for those around the bar where we noticed the 2 couples sitting.

PS: It was a lovely dinner and want to go back. Not cheap, however, but nice sushi places aren't.
I also think you could make a reservation for, say, 2 or 4 and when you check in, say you want to sit at the sushi bar. We might actually do that next time as it's fun to be where the action is. 8-)

How was her okonomiyaki, Japanese pancake?

How was her okonomiyaki, Japanese pancake?
That's exact name!!!
She LOVED LOVED LOVED it! And she didn't even get the version with bacon added (I was hoping to taste that one).
I can only imagine how good that one would be. I never had before but it was mighty tasty. I had the Shrimp Tempura rolls, miso soup, edamame and a small dinner salad got from next door Teppon Edo. DD got the pancake (huge), soup, small salad and shared edamame It was my birthday that day (and DD opened her big mouth) and they brought ice cream with a candle. I don't care for ice cream but such a nice gesture. The Japanese servers were lovely. The food was great.

Sorry if I answered more than you wanted.
