Shhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

Add my vote to those who said to propose early, even if you don't yet have the ring.

My then-boyfriend (sorry to give away the ending) took me up to Maine for a beautiful autumn weekend over Halloween. All weekend long, he was distant and nervous and moody, completely unlike the man I had known and loved for a year prior.

At the end of the weekend, I confronted him, and basically told him that if he had brought me up to Maine to break up with me, that I'd prefer if he just did it and got it over with, rather than torturing me with tension for a moment longer.

Then he proposed.

Looking back, he says that he was so nervous all weekend that he couldn't enjoy himself. That, added to the fact that he was terrified of losing the ring, made him miserable. He definitely wishes he would have proposed on day 1, and then had the rest of the trip to celebrate.

As for the intro as you step on board, handing a card is great--my personal choice if it was me, instead of "the soon to be mr. & mrs. so and so" would be "and now introducing (Mickey), who is about to ask (Minnie) if she will marry him" into the microphone as you drop to a knee.

I'll agree with this advice because the first quote is being a little too presuptuous... even if you are 100% right, I could see a statement like that being a bit of a put-off.

However, if your goal is to have an audience for this proposal (as some people like over a private moment), this doesn't really seem to be the place as the only ones who are really paying attention is the small group of CM assigned to clap for everyone as they board and get announced.

An idea just came to me... if Disney and the appropriate CMs/Hosts are willing to help you...

Tell your GF that you've heard great things about this game show they play called "Match Your Mate". You get there early to get a front row seat. When they ask for the newlyweds, you stand up and ask "are unmarried couples welcome to participate as well?" The host responds that "We usually require that you're married to play the game, but if you're at least engaged, we'll make an exception... are you currently engaged?" You respond with "No, not right now, but wait a moment and let me see if I can change that..." Then you pull out the ring and propose.

HooKooDooKu...that is a great idea! I never thought of match your mate! Now you have me thinking! ::yes::

Thanks so much!

Travis
