SHHHHH: Where are the *quiet* restaurants at Disney?

We went to maya grill at CSR in January and it was deserted! It wasn't super-late either-maybe 7pm. It was wonderfully quiet, and the servers were just the right amount of attentive. It was quite nice. I think the moderate table services can be quite quiet because people don't leave the parks to go to a resturant in a moderate the way thy do the deluxes.

I would like to agree with the posters who suggested Citrico's, The Wave, Artist's Point and the Turf Club. I'd also like to add Sanaa for consideration. We go there for lunch at least once every trip and find it very pleasant. We only had dinner there once and that was a few years ago, so I can't really comment about dinner. We've been to Bistro de Paris several times, but all before they were on the meal plan.
I strongly agree with Uncleromulus' caution about Blue Zoo and Il Mulino. We've dined in both places when there was a convention in the hotel and it was as loud as any WDW restaurant that we've dined at. Very unpleasant since the noise seems to bounce in both of those places. In addition to the noise at Blue Zoo, the service was terrible so much so that the head waiter had to come over to take care of us. (We didn't ask, he could just see that we weren't being well taken care of.) We will try both of these restaurants again some time, but not right away. We did not have that problem at Shula's. It was a nice, quiet atmosphere there.

Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom is mostly quiet during the day. We eat here for lunch every few trips and there's hardly anyone in there. I guess most people in the park don't want to trek all the way back to the front of the park to eat when they just got there a few hours ago.

Tony's during lunch is usually quiet, especially right after opening.

Most of the signature restaurants are quiet for dinner, except for California Grill. That one's usually fairly noisy unless you get there early or your ADR is for 15-30 minutes after the MK fireworks. Jiko is probably the quietest meal I've ever had, in regards to the signature restaurants.

The quietest dinner DW and I had at WDW was at Artist Point. Of course, it was slow season (before free dining) and there were only two other tables occupied in the entire place.

We've been to most WDW restaurants, and Artist Point is the quietest I can think of - we're still able to enjoy our conversations there, but the overall experience is quite relaxing and peaceful.

Plus, Artist Point happens to have my favorite food of any Disney restaurant.

The most quiet meals I have ever experienced were...

Dinner at Citrico's
Lunch at the Wave
(never really had a quiet breakfast lol)

We also took a nice boat ride from Downtown to Olivias for lunch one day and it was fairly calm, as well as a relaxing ride.

I don't know about lunch, but the news about Sanaa has spread. Early on it was a pretty quiet, well kept secret. Now, dinner is pretty packed and not nearly as quiet as it once was.

I wouldn't call any of the following places 'quiet', but they are significantly calmer and quieter than most of the Disney restaurants:

Citricos
Jiko
Artist Point
bluezoo
Turf Club
Sanaa

I find most of the signature restaurants aren't that bad.

For a quite evening DH and I love Citrico's at the GF.

Nearly every restaurant can be 'quiet' if you select the right time to go. If there are no kids in your party it is easy to eat lunch a little later when everyone else has finished lunch and is back on the rides. If you are not totally married to the evening presentations you can really have some down time. We ate at LeCellier during Illuminations (have seen it dozens of times so we didn't feel deprived) and it was a lovely meal with attentive service.:thumbsup2

We thought Garden View Lounge for the Afternoon tea at The Grand Floridian Resort was quiet as was Captain's Grill at the Yacht Club Resort. Boatwright's at Riverside resort. Rose and Crown Dining Room outside. Le Cellier was reasonably quiet too.

A big thanks to everyone for your responses! We are a month out and I am still changing my ADRs. I am torn b/w wanting quieter options for DH and myself and choosing the more "fun" restaurants for my teenage girls! Maybe we'll try a little bit of both... ;)

We found Sci Fi Diner to be blissfully quiet, even though it was fairly busy. A 1:30 lunch at Tokyo Dining was also very serene.

Enjoy yourselves!

Hard to find lol. Mama Melrose (in my experience anyways) wasn't too loud. Places where they have outdoor eating areas can also be serene.
Loudest restaurant ever, Planet Hollywood! My poor dad who doesn't have the best hearing gave up on conversation while eating there, because there was no way we could talk to him without the first thing he said being "WHAT?!?!?":rotfl:

We've always had quiet enjoyable nights at The Yachtsman....hands down, the noisiest....Planet Hollywood!! (tho LeCelier is quite noisy too, for being a deluxe restaurant.)
