Hahaha, yes! Dinner time always rolls around and I'm like, "I know I'm forgetting something... Oh. Yeah. Sustenance. Kinda need. Food." :faint:

I think you'll be needing a Sunken Treasure each evening during your BC stay. :thumbsup2 ( I really need to try one of those. ::yes:: )

Yes please!!! :hyper:

I highly recommend the BC! :lovestruc

Here is the view from our room (Garden View by the way!)

IMG_8807.jpg

Lacey's doin' the full-court press on ya.

Let me just add...

My standard view room 2 years ago boasted views of Illuminations whilst lying in bed. :thumbsup2 :rolleyes1

I should add - that view was taken sideways - so I was on my balcony, turned to the left. But isn't it incredible? You should have heard my gasp when I went out there! Oh and the only request I made was for a full balcony!

MM - that lighthouse that you see is where you catch the boat to HS! It wasn't far at all!

But, I really want that view!!!! (I am booked garden view) :goodvibes

Was that room close to the Epcot IG side???

AHhhhhhhh!!!! I'm getting all :dance3::yay::cheer2:

I didn't even know that type of view was available in a garden view!

It was pretty close. We found our way to the "secret" door that I am sure you have read about. If I recall, we still had to wind our way down a couple of hallways. But once you are out that door - you are RIGHT there.

So - I didn't tell you guys my secret door story! First you need the background -

I spend Wed of our vacation in bed all day. I apparently caught something somewhere and was up all night Tuesday night  I sent my family to AK without me because there was no way I was leaving the room. I turned the corner around 3:00 or so and was able to go to dinner with my family but I only nursed chicken noodle soup.

So, on Thursday morning, I was ready to go - I had essentially missed one day of my vacation and it was time to make up for it. I got up and got ready and put on a brand new shirt that I bought especially for this trip. Took the tags off of it that morning. We head down the hallways to the secret door (which by the way, made me a rockstar with my family LOL). We walk out and all of the sudden, I get sprayed with water! It hit my face and my shirt. I had put my sunglasses on before walking out the door so it was mostly my glasses. It wasn't a huge deal and it was just a handful of drops. BUT, the worker that was cleaning the siding - says, it's bleach! :scared1: Sure enough, within about 10 minutes, my brand new emerald green shirt has white spots all over one side! I wasn't hurt and thankfully, my glasses were covering my eyes. But I started thinking - that is crazy that they are spraying bleach water right next to a door with no warning. What if it had gotten in my eye? :scared: In reality - I was just bummed about my shirt! Yes, I am THAT shallow! :lmao:

Dh went down to the lobby later that night because he said the front desk needed to know so that next time they could block the exit off. He was really nice about it but they apparently brought out the facilities manager and everything to talk to him. They wanted all the details about what happened and how it could be avoided in the future. He took the shirt so they could see we weren't kidding about it. They apologized profusely and thanked my husband for being nice about (which of course he would be, I wasn't hurt and it was just an accident). Hopefully they learned something from it. They also asked what would make it right and dh just asked them to refund the cost of the shirt which they did without hesitation.

So - there's my secret door story - never a dull moment!

Wow! I'll be sure to bring goggles for the whole family!!! :rotfl:

Melissa- I didn't mean that I minded the people at the mall charging all their stuff, I meant that it is amazing that we went through this exact same thing on the same week last year. The same towns that were 100% out last year are 100% out this year and it taking just as long this year as last. Sorry, if I was misunderstood.

Dani- I know you said that you were fine, but it is still amazing the amount of destruction on Staten Island, the boats strewn around, the debris. Stay safe.

Cynthia

Janet - OH NO on Sarah's update! I hope someone can get some real food to her soon!!! Can they get out and go to a hotel or is that it an option?

Lacey - Congtrats to DS's team! I am sure you have plenty of free time for the mums ;) Sorry you got sick while in Disney :( and WOW on the bleach....that IS scary!!!!! That could have really hurt someone!

Candace - just looks as next weeks craziness as practice for your girls only trip :) You are super mom and will get through it all.....you may want to make sure you have some extra wine (or adult bev of choice) lined up ;)

IHTM - waving to you on your super speedy check in :)

Miss - yeah I am not looking forward to going back to carline (sitting is my issue right now) but I have pulled the kids out early every day this week. As far as the climate....I have never acclimated!!!!! I HATE THE HEAT and totally miss the change of seasons!!!! I miss apple picking, jumping in leaves, real pumpkin patches, the first snow, etc :(

Jen - WOW Candace is putting the Poly pressure on you!!!

Cynthia - oh no, I totally knew what you meant ;) I'm just happy they have a place to go! I knew you wouldn't mind them there, that never even crossed my mind :) It is sad that the same people have to keep going through this.

Well I took a little snooze on the couch, that trip out to the dr wiped me out ;) My BP was sky high at the dr, and I commented and the nurse said its just the pain and not to worry. Funny how the times I am there in pain my BP is sky high but when I'm okay it's perfectly normal.

Miss, Melissa & everyone ...Sarah says they have tons of water , as they have a Poland Springs dispenser and plenty of bottles ... also has fruit, vegies and kraft mac n cheese ... plus the generator to help. Only emergency repair trucks / propane trucks getting in, no other trucks allowed at this point.

She is having baked potatoes and thin mints for dinner ... yum! She is appreciative of all the support and knows that they are luckier than others...she is an amazing lady and a trooper!

MM... you will get thru this week! Heed the advice of Melissa and load up on wine! ::yes::

Lacey... so thankful you were not hurt! You both were very gracious about the incident, not others would be so. And congrats to your DS' football team!! Good luck in the game!! So nice of you to make flowers for the moms/grandmoms. :flower3:

Melissa.. happy that your doctor appt went well, try to rest more this weekend...

Hi to DetTigsGal, DznyCrzy11 and IHTM and everyone else!! :wave2:

It is very, very sad out here. I have sent a ton of clothes to shelters and churches. Tomorrow I am going to NJ's (a warehouse store) to buy bulk of nonperishables and water to bring to the shelters. They finally cancelled the marathon, thank God!

 You are a star, Dani.

Good about the race. I can't believe they held onto the notion of keeping the marathon on schedule for so long. Crazy.

Oh boy. Too many posts for my semi ADD brain. Here goes an attempt.

Janet - thanks for the updates on Sarah.

Sarah - You are an inspiration. I'm sorry you are going through this. I know you are staying strong, but some industrial strength pixie dust can't hurt. pixiedust:

babyberger - I'm glad you got a good report today. I hope you keep improving

Miss - No worries on the Poly conversion! Don't post that on the Poly thread though! :rotfl:

Dani - How nice of you to be so helpful to those in need! :goodvibes

basketlacey - Wow! I'm sorry about your shirt, that's not shallow! :flower3:. That must have been scary for a minute! :scared:

DetTigsGal - So did you make the switcheroo yet? popcorn::

pas - Poly???? Really? You stay booked at the Poly for about as long as I stay booked at BC CL. :rolleyes1 Did you decide about the O lights yet?

Mea Culpa to those I forgot. Have a great weekend all! :dance3:

Heard back from Sarah today & first, she says hi and that she misses everyone!! :goodvibes

As to the power situation, not so great news. :sad1: The entire town is without power and at the town meeting this AM, it was learned that power is not expected to be fully restored until November 14th!! :sad2:

They are OK, just eating starch since anything perishable is long gone. The health department is trying to get emergency propane to their house due to her medical situation. They are conserving their propane and expect to make it until Monday.

I offered to bring them groceries (as I know Pas would do in a minute as well :)) ... But she says the roads aren't safe for anyone to get to them (many downed live wires all over). If it changes for her DH to be able to meet us close by, said we would be there for her.

On another note ... she asked if Jeannette got power and and then I told her that Pas managed 2 RCs in the last 2 days! :upsidedow So Pas she does know about RPR and now the POLY... her response?? "I believe the POLY when she checks in!!"

Our Sarah :flower3:.... always displaying that positive outlook ... saying "this too will pass"... Hugs to you Sarah, PLEASE let me or Pas know if we can do anything!

:grouphug:

Janet thanks for the update on Sarah. My heart is breaking just thinking about her dire situation.. No power until Nov 14th :scared1: Horrible what about her treatments? Saying prayers for her and let her know I am thinking about her. I wish there was something I could do

Dani I can not believe the destruction I have been seeing from Statin Island thank God you were more inland

I just have to say what your doing to help is wonderful and you will be blessed ten fold:goodvibes

Just heard on the news that Nor Cal is sending it's 3rd wave of utility workers .... wish we could just get one of those trucks to Sarah.

So I went out today to get some yarn and fabric for Christmas gifts and you ladies just chatted up a storm (no pun intended) without me!!! No way I can reply to all but Melissa so happy that the doctor is happy with your progress.

Jeanette .... Poly for the Queen and her princesses .... sounds good but I don't believe that's the final change .... mama knows!

Back to my knitting ....

Well my friends, all this loss and heartache is reminding me that life is short and making memories is so important. I think I am going to price out a BC/Poly split when I get home.
