Janet and I_Heart~ You ladies are beautiful!!!! Glad you guys got to meet up!!!!

Jen ~ Definitely enjoy your weekend and re-connect with DH. I guess we aren't as bad as we thought...it took us until the girls were 3 and 1 before we started date night, but we really value date nights and were trying to do them once a month. Now, date weekend...we just did our first one in June with the Foxwoods trip - it was great!!! But, we are lucky to have great friends who we can leave the girls with and not be worried the whole time. Go. Enjoy!!!

I_Heart~ Cabana....hmmmm.....:scratchin

ETA Melissa ~ Our DD's birthday is 4/30! We wanted to get the LM room, but nothing under mil discount so RGR it is - it will be awesome I'm sure!!!! That would be really cool to meet up!

:wave2: Peeps!!

Looks like I have a lot of reading ahead of me .... for now I will jump in to say we had a great trip, it was hard to see it end (as usual) but planning for the next one helps. :goodvibes Plus I have the RC trip in January!!

It was my great fortune to meet up an RC Peep this trip:cool1: In between, the napkin waving and Pluto's visit (we were at Chef Mickeys), I was able to have my own meet and greet with our I_heart_the_mouse!! :woohoo: (I'm on the left, Iheart on the right and the man in the photo is no relation to either one of us!) She is a sweetie, wish we had more time to visit, but was grateful that her monorail shopping was on the same night as our ADR at Chef Mickeys!

Sadly, I missed meeting up with Magic, Kook and StepDisney ...:sad2: hopefully next next August will be different.

We had an AMAZING trip with my nieces!! We were on the go most of the time, so it didn't leave must time for DISing (unless I didn't sleep of course! :rotfl2:)

Missed being connected with you all ...Christine, Sheila and Dani was thinking of you all this past week and your loved ones too ...

Pas... happy to read you are feeling better ...

MM ... more changes I gather ... congrats!

Jenny ... happy your DD is better ... my DS had many growing pains if that what it was with your DD.

Babyberger ... hope you are faring better today ... and that goes for anyone else impacted by Isaac. Amanda for sure too ...

Will check in later ... I'm late leaving for work!!

Janet

Welcome Back Janet!
Thank You for remembering Dani, Christine and I And Our Loved Ones :littleangel: during your trip again this year. You are so very special :grouphug:

To all of the tremendously bodaciously wonderful RCing ladies, good thoughts your way...

I am completely stressing about airfare because southwest just keeps getting more and more expensive.

I hear ya! Did you book anything yet? That was the deciding factor in us pulling the trigger on our return flight for our January trip -- kept inching up and up and UP in price!

Just got home from work, making some careless mistakes lately there, need a vacation!! This adults only weekend couldn't come at a better time...DH and I need some time alone to re-connect. We are bickering a little too much over silly stuff lately for my liking. :sad2: Jeez we are coming up to 10 years, we should be proud of ourselves!

You SHOULD be proud of yourselves. Enjoy your weekend, you two. :goodvibes Oh, did you buy your party tickets already?

Thank you!! I think we are as prepared as we can be. We have our provisions, cars are gassed up, patio furniture pulled in & the generator is ready to go if need be. The storm's landfall point has moved slightly to the east of the city I live in, which is good. It's better to be on the west side of the storm. So, I'm hoping it won't be too bad. We are prepared for the worst but hoping for the best!!!

Amanda, I'm doing the "Go the Bleep AWAY, Isaac" dance for you this morning. :dance3: You and your family stay safe... :grouphug:

Speaking of Isaac, I hope that extra water goes away from our Melissa. :sad1: Glad to hear it's receding, stay safe inside.

Sheila: Oh boy, he was just trying to throw you for a loop with that GF mention, eh? :rotfl:

A good friend is getting married today (hush hush) so that is what the girls and I will be getting ready for :upsidedow

I'lllll beeeee baaaaccccckkkkkk!!!

Those September trips are close ladies............:flower3:

You are always a fabulous hostess. :goodvibes Enjoy the wedding!

Janet and I_Heart: You two ARE LOVELY! This RCing lot has some extraordinary genes, ya know? Thanks for sharing that picture. :cheer2:

-----------------------------------

So, I'm a bit dense. Here I was given two "happy pills" with instructions to take both and I only take one. :crazy2: Duh. One wasn't enough to make me not freak when they started sliding me back into the "Metal Tube of Doom", so they had to pull me right back out again. After my initial freak-out, they got me back in again and I managed to get through the 25 minutes of scanning... with a cage over my head. :scared: I have made a mental note for the future: when they give you happy pills, take ALL the happy pills they say to. :crazy2:

The hubs said something to me this morning as soon as he woke up and I said, "Huh?" so he repeated himself and I said, "What did you say?" -- this carried on a couple more times. My reason for not hearing him wasn't an ear issue, it was due to a sense of disbelief of what I was hearing him say...

"I'm looking forward to Disney."

:lovestruc:cloud9:

He also said we should go ahead and buy our MNSSHP tickets now.

Good morning! Trying to catch up, so I apologize in advance for anyone I forget! :coffee:

Jenny, everyone bickers, take it from someone who is coming up on her 32 wedding anniversary! :goodvibes I think the problems arise when people keep things in and it festers! Having kids is WONDERFUL and STRESSFUL! :scared: Oh, and that's so fun your DD got her ears pierced. :flower3: Both our girls did also when they were about that age!

Shelia, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the GF as most of you know, however I wouldn't change from BWI. There is just going to be so much construction going on, Gaspirillas closed, fences around the courtyard pool and all the crowds visiting the Gingerbread House. I just don't think you will be the true GF experience, and it pains me :guilty: to say this.

Missoutandabout, yay for getting through the MRI. AND, shame on your for not taking BOTH the happy pills :lmao: How fun that your DH is excited, men are often just little boys when it comes to WDW!

babyberger, glad you made it through Isaac with not too much trouble. Time to turn your thoughts to WDW!

Amanda, good luck with the storm. I was watching the weather channel this morning, I gather it's going to be a tremendous amount of rain :scared:

Janet welcome home! Sorry your trip is over :sad2:, time to start planning the next one! Thank you for posting the picture of you and I heart the mouse, two such gorgeous ladies!

mousemommy, yay for booking your flights for April!

pas, so glad you are feeling better! Have fun with the girls at the wedding!

To everyone I missed :wave2: and :grouphug:

:goodvibes "Marie I hope the meeting with the school went well! And woohoo you are getting so very close As for the mil disc, I am pretty sure you have to show mil id upon check in (Candace, can you confirm?). At least you got FD, it is better than nothing."

^^ Couldn't figure out how to Quote just one section of a post :p ^^ -- Hi, Melissa .:goodvibes meeting at the school went fairly well, managed to get DS16's schedule changed so he only has 2 core subjects first term (math/science) and put English into 2nd term. That should lighten his load some, and I won't worry as much about the missed days for Disney!! ....As to discounts.....I agree, FD is great with 4 adults :) DH does have military id/ even though he's retired....he has his vetran's/retired military card....only problem is, he's not coming with us, and neither is BFF's DH, we gals are on our own ;) so, we probably would be SOL without our hubby's ID..... also, being that we are Canadian military, I don't think we'd be eligible either....so that's ok. We are eligible when it comes to Seaworld for free tickets (they accept retired and CDN military along with US military), but we don't have time to add in Sea World to our already jam-packed itinerary. Free Dining saved me $1600 for the 4 of us, so I still think it was a pretty decent discount :)

I can't believe I only have 30 days until I leave!!! Crazy how fast it is coming up on us now! Very much looking forward to stepping foot off the ME into the welcoming lobby of the POLY :dance3:

Yeah, unfortunately, it's just US military. And the military member is supposed to be staying on site and show ID... (though they never asked us for ours...)

Hey, Candace! The discount can be used by retired military as well ...or their spouse. My mother could check in without my dad. My friend has gone several times without her DH, who is active military, and has never been asked for a military ID. :thumbsup2

I do know retired military can use it...maybe I'm thinking about the tickets (which I've never used)...there's always a hubbub about the military person needing to be present to activate them.

Hi MM and Minnie, Hope this helps, just popping in with my recent experience in May.
I purchased the tickets, activated them and checked into rooms without hubster, no prob. He is AF Ret. They asked to see my Mil ID card at the ticket window. I can't remember if they asked at AKL as we checked in.
Sorry for the quick drive by, RCers. Have to quick zip out to appt. Will stop later and backread. :goodvibes

Thanks, Ginny!

That's what I thought too. Have yet to hear of it being asked at check in (but then they rarely ask to see an AP either when that rate is booked), but have always heard it must be presented to purchase or activate tkts. :)

I am so glad you made it through the test, :grouphug: Sorry it was scary for you. At least it is over with now. And now you can get excited for your trip!! I have been waiting to get through a couple of things too, and now that they are past I feel I am really getting excited too!

Yes we have tickets for the 18th party....hope it doesn't rain!:p

Miss OH MY on the MRI! Yes, lesson learned take ALL that is prescribed for you! So sweet that DH is excited :lovestruc

Sarah I am definitely turning my thoughts to WDW!!! Been on the laptop most of the day doing my “research” :thumbsup2

Marie Glad you got DS’s schedule sorted out! Sounds like you did well with the free dining. Glad everyone else chimed in on the mil disc.

Okay got all my ADR’s moved, cancelled, scheduled, etc. In my planning I have decided to go ADR free for our December trip. I think because we are going to want to see the resort decorations, Osborne lights, and Dream Lights, we are going to wing meals. Plus staying at CR, we should be able to utilize Contempo café. I am also thinking maybe a meal at Big River Grille while we are seeing the Epcot resort decorations.

Pouring rain again :sad2: And there is talk that there will be no school again tomorrow, so I am glued to the school website waiting to see what is in store for us

Melissa

Getting ready to leave work, but wanted to check in with my peeps!!

Good morning ladies! I am hoping for a much less chaotic day today. DH isn’t flying back and forth to Atlanta during the storms, our power is on, and it seems like the water (at least in our neighborhood) is starting to recede. Kids and I will stay put though since I don’t know what the side roads look like and there is no reason to go out. I woke up to find the AP discounts out, although they weren’t much better than the GP announced yesterday. But we moved October and set that in stone (pending weather of course) and got our AP discount on our Dec CR stay. So today I can finally move our ADR’s and look at touring plans to figure out which days which park is best.

Janet Great picture! Glad you had such a good time!

Melissa ... congrats on your changes (does this cover everything I might have missed?) .... hope school is in session tomorrow ... yeah for power!!

And coming off a FD trip with ADRs all over the place ... I think an ADR free December trip is a perfect!!

Janet and I_Heart~ You ladies are beautiful!!!! Glad you guys got to meet up!!!!

Thanks Candace ... I was so happy to meet her!! :dance3:

BTW ... love the POR/POLY split!! :thumbsup2

Welcome Back Janet!

Hi Miss!! YES, do take ALL happy pills when prescribed next time!! (well hopefully this is not next time for MRIs, right?? :)) Sorry you had to go thru that.

Hi Sarah! Yes, it is always hard to say good-bye to Disney ....but you bet I am planning the next trip!! And thank you for the compliment ... and I agree with Miss ... think our RC gene pool turns out some very lovely ladies ... :goodvibes

Good Evening all!! :goodvibes

Just back from a trial gymnastics class for DD5. Now, in my opinion, she is the perfect gymnast "type". She is tiny, only 43 inches, all muscle and only weighs 30 lbs. She is a jumper and bouncer, but she is super shy....all of the sporting attempts by this one have gone down in flames....well, the owner of the facility was absolutely enthralled by her, and she said that DD is a natural and has talent and would Love to work with her. DD was her typical shy self but started opening up and trying stuff and she was doing better than the girls that were already in the class!!! :cool1:

We are going to take the plunge and sign her up! She says she wants to do it...it's $65/month though so if she quits, I'll be sad. :sad2:

Fingers crossed that she keeps with it!

OHHH! How fun! I love gymnastics , hopefully she will keep with it and learn to love and excel at something new :thumbsup2

Speaking of these happy pills / aka medication for anxiety.....I HATE the dentist, usually need my mouth frozen just for a cleaning as my teeth are so sensitive. Last time my dentist mentioned something about next time I come, maybe we should try sedation to make me more comfortable. I've never been sedated! I don't know what it will be like, will it take away my pain?? Allow me to be worked on without fear?? I don't want to be drugged so I can't communicate my worries or thoughts if something is not feeling good. But it would be nice to have no fear! My dentist said sedation makes people not have a care in the world, and their teeth work is done and over with seamlessly.....however, I am Leary, I don't really want to be a zombie, but it would also be nice to get work done without issue!!! DARN tooth sensitivity....it used to be no issue for me at the dentist, bit since my teeth started hurting from the scraping, and cold, etc.....it is just miserable!!! Anyone have any idea about dentist sedation and what I can expect???
It's gotten to the point I don't want to make another dental apt......just so I don't have to have the anxiety and fear! And I know that's not the solution either :sad2:

Jeanette, I was sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather, and hope you’re feeling much better. :flower3:

Melissa, Amanda, and any other RCer’s that are being pestered by Isaac, Stay safe and dry from that icky weather! Here’s hoping when all this passes it will be sunny skies!

Jenny, So cute about your dd’s newly pierced ears. What fun to have an extra birthday present, a bit later!princess:

Candace, Glad your dd is having fun with gymnastics. princess:

Dani, was it you and MM? Maybe? Did you mention Sci-Fi Theatre was fun? I booked it for the last day with ds, ddil and gs- 5yo. I looked online and we love good burgers, along with the cars it should be fun for the little guy.

Sjs314, Your happy comment about Crescent Lake from the Boardwalk got me thinking, and I was checking the Sept-Dec discounts today…more details on my decison below! Heck, I realized I love all the Epcot resorts. I’m an equal opportunity vacationer.

Missoutandabout, Glad the MRI is taken care of. Now, you can grab those packing cubes and pack away!:thumbsup2

Marie, your trip is right around the corner. Yay! About talking to school admin’s, I used to not like it, too. Stress. The only think I liked even less were teachers who assigned science fair projects. I can say it here, of course, I never let on to the kids I felt that way. :rotfl:

Padawans, Thank you for all you do to teach RCers and others how to book the resort you want. I have been reading resort threads where you’ve helped some folks, and today I applied some of your suggestions. They worked fabulously!! Booking Disney isn’t like booking a Hampton Inn, for sure!:rotfl2:

Basketlacey,
Are you still considering Oct vs. Dec? Lots of fun at WDW both times, decisions, decisions. :goodvibes

Pas, Hope the wedding was beautiful!!:bride:

Janet and I heart, love the photo of you both! We need to photo shop out the guy in the orange shirt, everyone else in the picture is lovely! :rotfl:

Sarah, We got married in 1980, did you? It made me smile when you mentioned your 32nd is upcoming. Congrats and best wishes in advance!:goodvibes

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Resort changes. :hourglass :rotfl2:
Thanks to the inspiration of sjs314, and the tutorial from Padawans, I decided to keep an eagle eye out today for a Sept-Dec discount on the room that hubster and I really love. That would be a deluxe CL at the Boardwalk. One popped up this morning, by the time I grabbed a calculator and phone...Disappeared. Went back an hour later, its BACK! 30% off! It’s available 4 of the 5 days of our vacation. So, I called CRO, booked it, and then booked a one night at the Yacht on our first night. Yes, RCers, hubster and I will arrive at the Yacht club. The next morning, in the very best Beverly Hillbillies style, we’ll pull our suitcases around the boardwalk to BWI. :rotfl: Hubster doesn’t know yet. I want to keep the surprise. :cool1:
So, one night at YC, 4 at BWI and then 2 at BC in Nov. It’s an Epcot resort fall, for sure!!:dance3:
Kook, I'm looking forward to catching up reading the BWI thread. See ya there!:goodvibes
(now I need to get busy and edit that ticker!)

Yes, we liked Sci Fi a lot! Yummy burgers! :thumbsup2

Ginny, you crack me up with the Beverly Hillbillies comment! Glad you were able to take advantage of the discounts. I really would like to stay at BWI one day but my kids are are afraid of the clown pool ;) So we will be spending our fall at YC. As for Sci-Fi, we did it as a fluke last time we were there and had a great meal and a great time in the cars, definitely recommend it!

Candace, I hope DD sticks with the gymnastics!

Marie, I have no idea how the dental sedation works but I hear about it all the time. I HATE dental work too! It is worth looking into for sure.

My kids have school tomorrow!!!!! My county had to decide to open partially because there is still so much flooding and damage, but my kids will be going! I am going to call WDW tomorrow morning and try to book a holiday sleigh ride for our Dec trip, I think the kids will love it, I just hope I can get one! I was watching YouTube videos and the people at Fort Wilderness go crazy decorating! If I can get one I am not going to tell the kids and surprise them.

Have a good night ladies!!!
Melissa

Baby, miss and gwynne - no airfare booked yet! I am playing with fire at this point. And really, since I already bought MNSSHP Tix, not so sure I can change to Dec. we could drive. We have plenty of time on the front end but would lose a day on the back. Plus today I heard hurricane Hannah's is closed -ack!!!

Janet - welcome back! We need details! Love the pic with I heart!

All of you in the hurricane path need to stay safe!

Jenny - congrats on 10 years! Enjoy the weekend with your hubby!

miss So glad you made it through the MRI  Good job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

janet is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

Love the pic, and IHTM...:rotfl: you both look so sweet :grouphug:

So it's been awhile since I had a pas story to tell.....

On our way out the door to the wedding..I took a little fall..:rolleyes2

felt a lovely pop...goes the ankle..

got up started driving....ouch...went home called my friend, called the Dr.

Sitting in the Dr. I had serious Deja Vu from my chicken foot incident (BTW it is at least the opposite leg)

I broke my ankle :faint:

DH said at least it was 2 weeks AFTER our trip this time

Melissa & Amanda & Magic Hope all is OK :goodvibes
