I spent over $2000 on food and alcohol on this trip. :scared1:

It is easy to do I know Bob and I can easy spend $75-$100 a day pp. When we were a Family of 4 way back in e 90's I use to be able to budget $100 a day for all of us, some days we did go over but geez the prices now are crazy if you are use to eating 3 meals a day

Luckily DH and I aren't huge drinkers! Over our 11 days, I had one glass of wine. DH drank half a pint of beer at Biergarten (because he couldn't finish it) and then about 3 beers from the lounge and 1 other from Epcot. So we really only had 3 alcoholic beverages that we had to pay for.

It will be interesting to see how much we end up spending!

On another note, I am interviewing for a management position at work tomorrow. I don't think I'll get it though because while I work for an amazing company, they very much reward tenure...and there is one girl who has more than me there. She's actually a good friend of mine and she of course thinks I'll get it because I have a slightly more qualified background than her....but we've both in the insurance industry for 12 + years....

I think she'll get it...but I figure it looks good to interview, show interest and then I'm up next when a position opens up!!! :thumbsup2

Wish me luck anyway though if you could! You never know! :wizard:

Well there it is! I am sure the CR will be wonderful! It's Disney!!

Yeah, our trip last month we realized just how much food we waste on the DDP. We hardly eat dessert, let alone twice a day.... And we actually checked out not having used 12 QS credits!!! :scared1: some days we just couldn't force ourselves to eat any more so a lot went unused.

We will be getting the TIW card though, so will see savings there. :thumbsup2

Yep, I can stress for days and days but DS puts it so simply and its done ::yes:: I looked and tried to convince myself that the GV Wing would be just as magical, but I can't even fool myself, so leaving us in the tower.

I should have known when he picked YC over BC that he would like the look of CR as well. I have learned that I need to listen to what he is comfortable with or else our vacation can be miserable. Kind of like before we knew we could get a GAC for him and each and every trip resulted in a meltdowns.

Yeah our cruise tab for alcohol can get up there ::yes:: But since we are usually driving there or back, we havent had the same at Disney. This year however we will always have at least one day that we are not driving :thumbsup2

I agree. The lounge is all well and good, but some days you want some eggs instead of fruit and pastries. Even if you eat QS instead of sitting down at Kona, you can spend upwards of $25. Luckily I usually stop by the lounge for OJ and apple juice or chocolate milk for the kids so we don't have to buy drinks. Lily and I can share a Mickey waffle and a side of scrambled eggs. Daniel either gets the bacon egg and cheese sandwich or the tonga toast. We HAVE to do a couple of character breakfasts (I prefer breakfast over dinner except at 1900 PF) and those really add up as well! At Chefs de France mine and Daniel's meals alone added up to $95. :scared1::scared1:

I don't drink a ton, but I do enjoy a fair amount of libations while on vacation. I had 2 lapu lapus over our trip. I don't buy beer because I get them free in the lounge, and I do enjoy a few glasses of punch each night. I also like to drink around the world. I spent almost $300 just eating and drinking around the world showcase! You just HAVE to get a beer and something caramel in Germany, a margarita in Mexico, sake in Japan, Grey Goose slushy in France, and so on. ;)

Funny story, since I didn't get to finish my TR yet. As we were doing the WS my mom thought I was drinking too much (insert :rolleyes2). I was not even close to catching a buzz. I told her the heat must have been evaporating the alcohol because it sure as heck wasn't in my bloodstream. :rotfl: Seriously though, I felt like a child. I'm pretty sure at 28 I know when I've had enough to drink!

Candace, good luck to you! I hope you get it. :thumbsup2

Okay...I need some help here ladies. Currently have Nov 10 2013 booked as a 4 night dream cruise. Slowly realizing that there will be more decorations up in the resorts and on the ship if we go after your Thanksgiving.

So now we are looking back at the Dec 1 four night cruise, and hitting WDW for 4 nights after. Does this sound like a good move to you? I am hoping that this week would be somewhat slow crowd wise....and a big thing here...DH wants this week and he wants a 4 night!!:cool1:

I know this week doesn't get discounted which is not making me happy, but I want to make DH happy and stop switching this cruise around!! Plus I really would love for the girls to see all the resorts gingerbread houses!!:goodvibes

THoughts....

I would go in Dec, but I woud wait to book. Last year the Dec cruises were discounted to military and travel people. Dec is a slow month for travel. I would keep an eye on what goes on this Dec. People on the Cruise boards that book the discounted GTY staterooms are getting some pretty nice upgrades. I really don't think I'll ever book a cruise before the 45 day pay off date again.

 We are already booked....and I have changed the date a number of times already!! :rolleyes2 We are leaning towards Dec though.

I'm sure this far out your getting a great price. It seems like you need to book super far in advance or wait to the last minute to get a great deal. At 3 to 6 months out when most normal people:laughing:start thinking about a vacation the rates are really high. I would still go in Dec. The ship will be decorated for Christmas also.

Just got off the phone with CRO, called to make a payment. Sometimes they are just wacky.

Me-I'm calling to make a payment.
CM-I see you don't have the dining plan with your reservation.
Me-No, we book room only.
CM-So are you not planning to dine while you're at Disney?
Me-I think we're set, but thanks.

I had a CM the other day trying to do the hard sell on the DDP. She kept trying and then I advised her that with the amount of food my family wasted on the DDP the last three trips we could probably feed a small 3rd world country...and then proceeded to ask her whether she would be willing to guarantee that all future wasted food would be send directly to starving children across the globe...she was silent...:rolleyes1

I was just being fecetious obviously...but at least it shut the sell down. :rotfl:

Interview in 1 hour and 15 minutes!

Candace, Sending lots of good luck wishes as you head to your interview!:goodvibes

And what's up with the DPP hard sell? Crazy!:headache:
Thought you had a great answer! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! :goodvibes

Gwynne: :lmao: "No, actually we don't eat at all while we're on vacation."

Candace: Positive thoughts your way for that interview. I'm sure you've bowled them over. :thumbsup2

-----------------

I'm anxiously awaiting the real start of kindergarten tomorrow (instead of today's preview day) so I can commence getting giddy for Disney!

I thought it went well! But like I said before, I fully expect the other candidate to get it because we have very similar backgrounds but she has more tenure...by a year...well see...

Good for you...keeping fingers crossed and sending pixie dust your way!!pixiedust:

Hubster's interview notice came in... September 6th! Disney, here we come (barring any additional unforeseen complications. :lmao: Gotta cover my bases, ya know.) Thanks for all the positive thoughts and encouragement that things would work out. :grouphug:
:woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay:
:worship::worship::worship::worship:

In other news, I She-Ra'ed the garage door so now we have a guy here replacing the opener because I broke it. Oops. :confused3 :rotfl2:
