My kids are really looking forward to Stormalong Bay next month, and they are excited to walk into Epcot. I am hoping we all love YC as much as I think we are going to! I really wouldn't want to deal with the construction at the GF either and I didn't even think about all of those guests using the Poly. But you are right deciding which Disney Deluxe resort is a pretty good problem to have a the end of the day ;)

We are booked for WL 2/2-2/6 and am really looking forward to that! I think the time of year will be perfect at the WL! I may end up there in Jan as well :rolleyes2

Candace, I am so tired from lack of sleep the past couple of nights that I just want to cry when it comes to deciding what to do for Jan  I am so happy with all my other trips, I don't know why Jan is giving me such a headache. I guess because we are doing an Epcot resort in the fall, I kind of want a MK resort in Jan especially to see the FLE. But then I remind myself that less than a month later we will be at WL for 4 nts. I just cant see paying the rates for Poly if I am going to have to deal with construction.

Melissa

I know I'm not helping, but the construction is internal to the longhouses. And the longhouse that they are working on won't likely be available for guests, so the chances of you seeing or hearing construction is nil. There's nothing scheduled for outside...the hot tub is apparently being put in this fall so that should be all done by the time Jan rolls around. I really don't think you have to worry about construction.

I'm feeling bold today. Bold and confident! :goodvibes

A generic ticker just won't do. It's been 4 days since our change to Poly CL, and that choice is here to stay!!! ::yes::

Maybe I misunderstood what Tikiman has posted. I felt like the GCH and the pool were probably on the overhaul list and could start happening once the construction wraps up at GF. I will go back and reread his post about construction after dinner.

I am thinking that maybe we just take a quick tour of the resorts when we go up in a few weeks and then decide as a family.

From what he told me on FB, the hot tub is supposed to be going in this fall. The GCH and pool will have some repairs and yes, more likely once GF construction done...but GF construction is currently not scheduled to be done until very late 2012 or even 2013. In January, you'd be fine. ::yes::

Just sayin'. :goodvibes

Anyone heard from Janet today????

I had a text photo of Sam and Janet's nieces with Chip n Dale! Otherwise, she has been pretty quiet today! Yesterday was the exciting day with doing TOT and TS...and the day before she was in absolute heaven over at AK for the 2nd day in a row!! :cool1:

It is stuck on with the super glue of my conviction.... ::yes::

Hey, at this time, I truly believe this will stick. :hyper:

I hope you do stick with it. You will love it. The Poly is fabulous. I miss it so much right now. :sad1: Last night Danimal and I listened to the music loop from the Poly and watched videos of the different resort activities on Youtube to keep the magic alive. We are super excited to try AoA next year, but the Poly is the real highlight of our trip! If airfare wasn't such a killer from NY I would totally book us a weekend trip. I just can't justify paying those prices without a nice long trip attached.

In other news, my first client is paid in full and has referred 2 others to me as well! :cheer2:

Won't be long until it's time to start making those ADR's for your Poly trip! :woohoo:

Unless something catastrophic happens and we can't afford the trip, we are going to be at Poly CL. No doubt.

Yay for new clients!!!!

October 22nd (not that I'm paying attention or anything)...:rotfl:

We have decided on 4 ADR's
1) Ohana dinner
2) be our guest dinner
3) Kona dinner
4) Tusker House breakfast

....and that's it!!! No DDP this time around...we want to be free, and also be able to enjoy the lounge more. Just waiting for the April park hours to come out so I can start planning the itinerary.

And, depending on the airfare costs, which won't open up until Oct...we may fly in on 4/19 instead and we would just do AoA for the night...that's if it's cheaper to fly on Friday vs. Saturday...::yes::

I am SO bummed we can't get the DDP with the TA rate (which makes no sense) because it was HARD to calculate a food budget and we went way over what I budgeted (which was also due to some manipulation by family members :rolleyes2). I also didn't like that we were NEVER offered dessert. I had to have them fix the bill because they brought it to us before we had a chance to order!

After analyzing menus and prices, I will be budgeting $1000-$1200 for food and that is quite an overestimate. Still cheaper than DDP and we likely won't even touch that amount. We'll do breakfast in the lounge, then either a QS lunch or dinner both days...not likely both. None of us eat that way. I know it's horrible, but I eat about 1 meal per day...and snack on and off the rest of the day. The CL lounge offers ample snacking opportunity. ::yes::

 I know I been MIA lately my bad! Just been lurking the past few days.

MM I am gonna be watching you ticker! :lmao:

Dani Congrates on the new clients ! I agree makes no sense you can not get the Dining Plan.

My trip planning is almost done. I was able to get an ADR for BOG on Monday :cheer2: Now all I am waiting for is the Dressert Party.

Miss you guys I still have a little to go back and read

Do you have Abreva??? Or the old toothpaste to dry it up!!! Must destroy cold sore by tomorrow...first day of Kindergarten

So this is a sunset view of CR/BLT from the WL boat....just an idea of how amazingly serene Bay Lake is...

Jeanette

The picture is gorgeous! To me CR is WDW, who but Walt could dream of a Resort tht the Monorail passes thru :goodvibes

In 1971 it was so futuristic. To me it just screams Disney and one of these days I will stay there..... I hope :cloud9:

Just lost my post, GRRRR :furious: So starting over, sorry if I am missing anyone.

I know it doesn't totally make sense to fly in for a weekend, which I have done to Boston for quick 48 hour trips, but do you use airfare watchdog or anything like that to watch for last minute specials? I also get weekly emails from JetBlue and actually have gotten discount codes to use on top of whatever specials they have running. Sometimes you have to act quick on the tickets, but it can really be worth it.

Oh and congrats on your client and the referrals :woohoo:

I was looking forward to the DDP again, as we usually make out pretty well with it, but this year I actually decided against it. I don't like the changes they made and price increases. I think we can do better OOP using the TiW card. Plus since alcohol is included in the TiW discount, I should break even pretty quickly :lmao:

Because we are not high class like some  and wont have access to a CL we will be eating breakfast in our room. I usually drag the kids down for a CS breakfast and end up wasting so much time and food. DH doesn't eat breakfast, I am hit or miss, and my kids really are just happy with a bagel and cream cheese. So I figured to save on time and money I will just bring a bag of bagels and a tub of cream cheese and voilà breakfast is served :thumbsup2 I think the DDP is just too restrictive and way too much food. I mean who really has dessert at lunch AND dinner? I know I wont let my kids!

So I talked to DS(9) tonight about the CR and why I think maybe it isn't the right choice for us, of course putting it into terms that are relevant to him. And in his words "Mommy I really LOVE the rooms there and want to stay there. I don't want to stay at the Hawaiian place or princess rooms." Now that I look at the rooms again, I kind of get it from his perspective. The brown muted tones are similar to what we have at home, so they are comforting, and the themed rooms can have a lot going on and cause sensory overload for him. So we are sticking with the CR, that is until I tell DH how much it costs :rotfl: But I am going to just tell him that it is a family Hanukkah present and something DS REALLY wants to do. I figure it is 2 nights, and if we don't LOVE it, it is not a huge vacation that we have ruined. So it looks like I am leaving the CR for now.

Well there it is! I am sure the CR will be wonderful! It's Disney!!

Yeah, our trip last month we realized just how much food we waste on the DDP. We hardly eat dessert, let alone twice a day.... And we actually checked out not having used 12 QS credits!!! :scared1: some days we just couldn't force ourselves to eat any more so a lot went unused.

We will be getting the TIW card though, so will see savings there. :thumbsup2

I spent over $2000 on food and alcohol on this trip. :scared1:
