It looks like the military discount has been extended thru 9/28/13!!!!! I am soooo excited!!!! I guess I won't be able to call until tomorrow per lots of CM's who are already taking calls on this.

ETA: I think I will call tomorrow (apparently when you can start booking) and try to secure my current YC GV room under the discount...I will hold onto that for quite some time, since it is apparently hard to come by with a good discount. if we decide to do CL later, we can do that at a later date....if the discount is 40% again, we're talking over $900 savings!!!

My husband says I am crazy making lists etc. I currently have bookings at 2 resorts for the exact same time but am afraid to cancel one of them - I know thatbprob sounds ridiculous. We have just never been before and I want to do my best to make sure we have a great time. So hard to coordinate meals!
What's the consensus here on emh? I've heard to definitely go to the park with emh by also told definitely abound them due to larger crowds .... So which is it? I really want to finalize some breakfasts!!!

FWIW ... Our family really enjoys the evening EMH at MK ... once or twice we have hit DHS on a late night, but mostly we stick to MK. I know there was a conversation about the EMH evening hours getting cut to 2, that really stinks!! We don't usually do AM EMH, and will avoid that park for another on those early opening days (since we are more night owls .... )

I seem to make Resort changes every year. But this year it actually NEVER crossed my mind. We'll be doing a split stay!!! We're SOOO excited for the NEW AOA & our 1st DELUXE VILLA @ SSR!!!!!

Yeah Happy2012 for your firsts! ... AoA and the deluxe villa at SSR!

On another note, DH just told me that I need to learn how to make towel animals, because he hasn't liked coming home and not having that to look forward to!

maybe GG can round up that book and she can post the directions for us all!!!

Hey miss, so it's AoA for January (for now?? )

He's doing great, thanks! He is a bit sad because he got selected to play for the premier travel soccer team but we had to turn it down because he would have to sit out the first two weeks and that is a big no-no in the league. I'm not so sad though, I prefer the local rec league. Much easier to manage!

I am getting so excited about the upcoming landing of NASA's Curiosity Mars rover. I am planning to stay up and watch. If all goes well, it should land about 1:30am on August 6th. What an amazing thing to see!

We ARE going to DL. Decided to book a room at the Hilton at the convention center .... about 2 blocks to Disney. But there was nothing available for this weekend on their website. I then checked the Last Minute Travel website and there it was but since they don't show the hotel name I thought it was the Hilton judging by the pictures but WAIT it says call for a better rate!!! I called, got the room booked for $80 a night plus tax!!! I've never paid so little for that hotel!

That is FANTASTIC!!!! Enjoy Mama!!!!!!

They did a hearing test on her and the doctor recommended she have tubes inserted in her ears since she keeps having problems with fluid build-up. She was distraught when the doctor was explaining how the surgery works. (Somehow, amazingly enough, they managed to book us in for surgery this coming Monday! ) I know it's a fairly common procedure -- but you all know how momma bears are, right? I'll be fine as long as they allow me to be with her. I calmed her down by intricately explaining how the surgery will work (to the best of my knowledge) and that she won't feel anything since she'll be taking a nap. She's just like her daddy -- needs ALL the details. All the details and a promised trip to Toys R Us afterward, that is...

They should allow you to stay with her until the anesthesia kicks in and then you'll be there as she wakes up None of my kiddos had tubes...almost with DS11, but please know I haven't ever had a kiddos in our Pediatric ED with complications from the procedure. Hang in there Mommy!!!!!!!!! Many Monday prayers for you

It's been busy over the last few days! I'm thinking about pushing my trip back to May. I really enjoyed the crowds and while it was really hot, I can deal with that much better than cold weather. This is just a thought though.

I_heart_the_mouse - I have to say that when we visited YC and BC, it was soooooo much louder and busy at BC, which was the ONLY turnoff, and really made us appreciate how quiet and relaxed WL is....I think YC is a good solution!!!

For our family 2013 vacation. Probably a 2 weeks stay in April, 1 week at the beach, 1 week WDW....and the kiddos....so far...picked CR CL

I think the 2012 RC family trip list is fairly set. Oh there will be changes but I wouldn't think too much major...so I am starting to take notes on 2013, as people return and plan their next trip. Won't post it for awhile, but it is in the works. So far we have Hannah, MM and me with trips booked for 2013...who's next?!

Tentatively... April 1st to April 14th..Myrtle Beach or St.Pete (depends if we are flying or driving) and CR CL...booked MB & SPB, not WDW yet

Hmm do I really need to book this early for May....35 changes in 3 weeks. What could I possibly do in 9 months.You should be fine this far in advance. It really doesn't become difficult until a couple months out. There are only a few GV Cl rooms at both resorts. If your thinking Club level and don't want to look at a parking lot....just saying.

I've been sadly behind in posting since returning from the land of cheese (aka Wisconsin). Work and family stuff has certainly got in the way. [My DS is struggling with some issues so we have been helping him, and for right now he is on a better path, so good thoughts will be appreciated ).

We have done beachfront condos! Luckily have had great luck! I mean how can you NOT love the beach. I use Trip Advisor a lot for reviews! A friend at work rents a house every year through VRBO and hasn't had issues. She always stays at Anna Maria Island (I have never been) Magic lives in the Tampa area...I am sure she could help and christine was there recently

Me too!! I got mine on a carnival cruise. Dh and I went toa demo and bought the book so we could make them for the kids. Guess how many we have done (we bought it 6) years ago. You guessed it - ZERO!

I tried putting the bug in DH's ear the other day that "I work so well when I have a trip to look forward to, and it helps me get through the yr to have a trip, and I should be able to plan a wdw trip ONCE a yr! even if it is just me! LOL" sorry to say, it was a NO GO ......for now, anyway. I think he just wants us to concentrate on some bills before making any more trip plans. the next trip I think he'll be open to is our 25 anniversary in 2016....I may be able to squeeze a DL trip in 2014 when my son graduates highschool....but that's a maybe.

I am going to be sooooooo sad!!! I'll have to keep up with you'all and just live through you for awhile!

I'm lonely tonight, DH is away doing a out of town prisoner escort// overnight work trip....it's not as bad as the 22 yrs of military duty when he was gone all the time on the military's whim....but I still miss him when he's gone! Thankfully he'll be home tomorrow , if all goes well!

Jenny: I know how stressful it is for momma's and Pappa's ....but know we are all thinking of you and wishing your girls well they'll be a troopers, I'm sure!!!
