I would just like to note that a ticker shall not grace my siggie until a choice has been made. :rolleyes1

So....no ticker this trip huh?????? :goodvibes

I would say go for the generic, non-resort related, Disney ticker BUT, I changed my trip from all Disney to.....um....can't remember how many other parks we added on at this point because it's still a work in progress. I finally gave up and kept YC, although if I can get CR, YC is history..... (I know, I know, I'm not really helping am I....)

I love my RC family. :grouphug: I was posting on another forum (not the DIS) and they told me I don't deserve my job and I'd be lucky if I even have one next month. Who says that to someone?! It isn't like I planned for both of my kids to get serious illnesses and then myself to get ill as well. These are things that are beyond my control. I couldn't believe some people could be so mean.

:scared1: REALLY??!! :furious: Where are they located?

:badpc: Who's with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cool! So you think it sounds good??? I just know nothing about cruises...what do you do on the boat??? (I know that sounds so elementary)...

Hi MM! Yes, great plan! We spent a LOT of time on the ship, thanks to Hurricane Irene. We didn't plan to leave the ship in Nassau anyway, but we were really looking forward to Castaway Cay, but the Dream never docked there on our cruise a result of the weather. So on our three night cruise, we didn't leave the ship once!

We were up very early each morning and had a great time in the pools, on the Mickey slide and on the Aquaduck. We didn't go near the pools on embarkation day or in the afternoons, but at 7:30 or 8am, they were nearly empty and it was wonderful! Our boys loved the shows in the Walt Disney Theater (one every night) and the pirate night festivities. One of our favorite events was a dance party with the characters in the atrium - our boys had a great time and I couldn't take photos fast enough! We did a few character greetings, but we primarily just ran into them in the halls (kids followed Hook and Pan around the ship one night as the two chased each other!) We watched portions of a couple movies on Funnel Vision - the giant screen outside near the pool. My husband took the boys to a sports trivia game once and we played midship detective agency (kind of like the new game in MK or Kim Possible in Epcot.) He also played basketball with our middle son while I played mini golf with our youngest and oldest sons.

Now, we also spent a good amount of time with our youngest in the kids' club because the policy was different then - all of us could join him in club for activities at any time. He loved the Piston Cup races, dance parties, Pluto's pajama party, making flubber, and an interactive building game with Stitch. But the policy changed in December 2011, so now families can only join little ones in the club at certain times - still fun, but you would just have to watch the navigator if you wanted to do these things together.

Once, my husband and I had time for a drink on our verandah (which I LOVED), but that only lasted 30 minutes. Our youngest was in the club with his older brothers, but he wanted for us to join them and see what they were doing. :)

Our older boys went to the tween club (the Edge) but mostly later at night when we were getting our youngest ready for bed.

I didn't book the spa or adult-only dining at Remy or Palo, but I've read great things about them! There are also a ton of other activities for families and adults that I know we missed.

Phew - that's just a quick summary of what we did. Disappointed to miss Castaway Cay, but they kept us busy!

Really hope that helps! So excited for you! :)

Wow I loved all this info too...I just changed our cruise to a 3 night Nov 14, 2013 and I am so glad to hear all this!! If you think if anything else, please add!

BTW, what you are doing with the Alaska cruise is what I hope to get our family on in the future!:yay:

Thanks Pixarmom!!!. Sounds "Dream-y" :goodvibes
We are really excited about it, and we will book sometime soon!!! :yay:

And stepdisney... :rotfl2:
I did the generic ticker last time and really want a good solid one this time...hopefully we can get our acts together and CHOOSE!!!

And RC family....I wanted to announce that we adopted an adorable 10 week old boy kitten!!!! :yay::yay:
The girls have wanted a kitten for sometime, and DH has always had cats and LOVES them...so we went to look at our local animal shelter and came home with our new baby...his name is Lao Che

Extra points to whomever can tell me what his name references...:goodvibes

Indiana Jones???
Congrats on the new member! We have two furbabies too! I bet he is super cute...pic?

Good night RCers. I guess everyone is watching the Olympics or packing and getting ready for trips. I have to keep us at the top of the pages.

Just saving us from 2nd page OBSCURITY!!!! :scared1:
:thumbsup2

Oh my. Where IS everyone? We were almost on page two :scared1:

I started my PTR but I can't figure out how to post picures. I posted pictures a loong:sad1:g time ago but there must be a way to it the pictures in my text and to cut and paste it into a PTR. I want to post chapter links as well. Basically, I am going to need a tutorial or a refresher course. I know that someone in our RC family can help.
I use photobucket, but I'm sure Kookerific or janet would be much more helpful. Is the PTR up already, I don't want to miss a thing :goodvibes

:badpc: Who's with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TOTALLY with you!!!!

Congrats on the new furbaby. You are all having one magical summer :flower3:

 Thanks step!!!!!!! I was working, and the Dis was acting up yesterday and I couldn't sign in to post......grrrrrrrrr. I emailed WL IPO yesterday since I can't access anything online. They said all my requests, etc are in, and no need for online check in, they will have my packet ready...so now I am obsessively looking at park hours and ADRS...DH doesn't want to be tied down by ADRs so I am making lists of CS spots :yay:

BTW step, you have inspired me to attempt a PTR. The link is in my signature...it may stink but all good...it'll keep me from changing....

HAPPY SUNDAY RCers! :goodvibes

I woke up bright & early this morning! Why? you ask. Oh......just to make a resort change for our trip. :rolleyes1

Originally, we were supposed to be at POFQ for 9/28 - 9/30 for the ToT races. But, now we will spend these first two nights of our trip at Beach Club! :cool1:

I'm really excited! Lately, I've been getting very interested in this resort. The more I look at pictures of it, the prettier it looks to me. We'll still be moving to OKW on 9/30 but I'm excited for our 2 nights at BC.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend!

Amanda, I'm SO excited for you!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I really think you're all going to love it! Now, I think POFQ may be my favorite of the mods (I've also stayed at CSR and CBR), but the difference between POFQ and YC/BC is significant. In April I took our youngest (Reid's age) on my own, and we did a split stay between POFQ and YC. (I've always wanted to try YC, and I've been staying at BC for 20 years now.) I was so happy the morning we moved over to YC - it was like a brand new vacation. BC is still my favorite and I think it's great for you and your family.

It's such a wonderful atmosphere at BC and all around the Epcot resort area. We love SAB, the BC lobby, the lake, etc. And most of all, the location is just amazing - so close to all those wonderful dining choices and for your ToT race - perfect! We like to avoid the bus when we can, so walking or boating to two of the four parks is a huge selling point for us. Please let me know if you have any questions - I'm happy to help if I can!

I have a cruise question!!!! We are working on final details...is it worth it to have the verandah??? It looks really nice, but obviously costs extra...but it's like added space to the room...and...what are the differences in the decks??

Thank you!!! :goodvibes I'm really excited to try out BC, even if it's only for 2 days. Hopefully, I'll be able to check out SAB for at least a little bit with Reid on the Saturday we're there. Are there any areas of SAB that is geared towards the younger kids? I really want to do our 2014 trip during Star Wars weekends, so I'm considering this "resort research" for that trip. :rotfl: Seems like it would be best to stay at an Epcot resort if we do go for SWW. I really like the thought of being able to walk or take the boat to DHS with Reid on the night of the race.

IMHO.....the verandah is definitely worth it. In fact, my DH said he wouldn't cruise without one again. It was so nice being able to step out there & enjoy the fresh air & get beautiful pictures. I would also go sit out there to journal. It was so peaceful. We were on the very aft of the ship - those verandahs are huge! In fact, we booked another aft stateroom for our cruise in May. The price will also go up as you go up in decks. For our 1st cruise on the Dream, we were on deck 6. It was nice because the kids club was just 1 deck below us so it was easy to get our son there. And the pools & such weren't too far away either (deck 11). I booked deck 7 for our May Fantasy cruise. We'll still be relatively close to the clubs & just a tad closer to the pools & such. I could have booked deck 10 but since we were booking aft cabin, I didn't want to be right under Cabanas. Hope this helps!

From what I've read and seen in pics, there's a kid slide and pool area on the back end of the pirate ship where the huge slide is. There's also a zero depth entry wading area with a sandbar type place for them to play as well.

Awesome! Thank you so much for this info. We'll definitely check out the kids slide. He'll like that it's on the pirate ship. I need to open up my activities spreadsheet & pencil in some SAB for sure! :thumbsup2

*blinks* activities spreadsheet? Hmm...do you have a specific template you use? I'm constantly looking for a good way to keep myself organized as I figure out our schedule and make all those changes. ;-)

Yeah, I'm a little OCD. :rotfl: I like to have a spreadsheet of how our days will go so that we at least have a general plan for each day. I just created a schedule in Numbers (for Macs). I just try to put down our meal times & what we'll be doing in general during the other hours. It also helps me to see about how late we will be up each night & what time we need to wake up each day.

I have an itinerary that I put together using one of the planner templates for Word. Then I did a separate dining calendar. :-) of course that means 2 places I have to change when I switch things around. Haha!

Yeah, I have 2 pages to my spreadsheets: 1 is for activities & the other is for dining. I've tried to predict the cost for each meal (tips & tax included) to see if the DDP or OOP is best for us. According to my calculations, the DDP should save us around $70. I'm hoping to keep a tally from our trip & truly see if it saved us $$$$. I tried to do that last year & failed miserably. :sad2:
