Is that a local pronunciation? I've never heard it pronounced that way before. Not saying it's wrong, I've just never heard it.
In the Queen's english it's pronounced "shedgul". but I don't know if it's even an English based word. It almost looks German??

i've never heard of it until she started working here a few weeks ago. I believe she moved to New Jersey from the South to work in the NYC office, but other people I work with from that part of the country don't say it that way.

British people pronounce it the other way and some Americans think that they'll sound European if they pronounce it that way...like that's so great.
So long as they aren't saying UMbrella instead of umBRELla, I'm cool with it.![]()
Americans pronounce it as Sked-jule. Brits pronounce it as Shed-jule.
It drives me nuts too when I hear it the way the Brits say it![]()
