She's Legal Around the "World" a AUGUST 2014 PTR New TR link posted

... but you haven't lived until you've had a Grey Goose Slushie ;)

I'm excited you're here at the beginning too:goodvibes

Mmmmm... Grey Goose Slushie... I may or may not have had my first one on my last trip. You'll just have to wait to find out...

I'm excited too!!!!!!! :yay: Missed the first page though. :sad2:

Wow that is an awesome accomplishment for Shanleigh! With marks like that I can definitely see her accomplishing her career goals :goodvibes

You're plans sound great! I can't imagine anything more magical than disney at Christmas!

I am in! Can't wait to see the new plans. When we were in Disney last month, I thought of you when we were in France and picked up our slushies of course! ::yes::

Shanleigh sounds like an extraordinary young woman. I think she must get it from her mom. :goodvibes

How nice that you are able to get a discount on the room again! Flights are outrageous right now-$1000 will certainly help ease the pain of that.

So great that S has continued working while in school.
I agree! If she has an exam coming up she books the days off prior and it's worked so far:goodvibes
What a wonderful feeling it must be that drinking is not a concern for you! Not even finishing one favorite Disney mock drink is a great sign!!
I know many people don't agree with this, but I was one of those mom's that told her if she wanted to drink she could drink in the house (before she was 18) terrified me of the stories from classmates of her's that were brought home by the police etc. I think by giving her that choice it wasn't a forbidden fruit so that was that! Thanks goodness LOL
LOVE the intro and love the extra bits of info included...didn't realize (or perhaps remember) that S is a black belt! Wow!! Very impressive. And I love that you volunteer at inner city schools, that is wonderful.
Yes, I know you wouldn't know it to look at her but she can kick some butt! Her only broken bone came from a sparring match and she broke her wrist when she blocked a kick.
Your plans look great so far and yes, I am slightly possibly hoping you go the Chicago route with possibly a layover?! :) honestly, I hope you are able to get to WDW the quickest and least expensive way possible!
The flight I have looked at going thru Chicago leaves here at 6am, gets into Chicago at 8am and departs at 9am so not my of a layover....not gonna lie, I did think of you!
Yay for the room discount, fantastic savings!
It makes it much easier to be able to stay for 2 weeks that's for sure!
Happy weekend! I hope it's starting to warm up for you. It's beautiful here today but they are calling for snow tomorrow morning...not too much but really, it's the end of March?!!
yesterday was gorgeous...sun shining all day and it got to a high of -3....which after highs of -33 felt like bathing suit weather LOL

It sounds like you have a great daughter! Its never a bad thing to completely throw yourself into something that is positive and it sounds like that is exactly what she does. Good for her!!

That is great news about the room discount. We have only ever done 1 other trip and we stayed at Pop. We loved it!!

Can't wait to hear more!

Thank you, I am very proud of her! You are so right my friend...

I love the All Stars but the buses can be a bit of a bother sometimes....I loved the bus service at Pop Century and our room location....it's become a favourite!

Wow, very impressed by Shanleigh's accomplishments! Good job for raising such a great young lady.

Hope the airfare works out for you...I hate connections...much prefer the direct flight if I can afford it.

Jill in SNOWY CO

Thank you so much! I'm with you Jill, if we can fly direct we'll fly direct, even if it's a little more! Convenience alone makes it worth the little extra!

Yay Im so excited to read your new PTR and can't wait to read it all. I havent been to Disney since 2011 and Im missing it like crazy! Your both lucky to be able to go every year!

I am so happy that you're back! I agree, we are lucky! You would laugh at us thruout the year as we make our little sacrifices to allow these vacations....this is how it goes. "Do you want to go out for dinner mom....to which I reply, well that would be about $60 and that's a table service at Disney, and we cook at home". Having a friend with the discount sure helps too! I hope we can bring a little Disney magic to you until you go again:hug:

Mmmmm... Grey Goose Slushie... I may or may not have had my first one on my last trip. You'll just have to wait to find out...

I'm excited too!!!!!!! :yay: Missed the first page though. :sad2:

Hmmmm, that sounds promising! I can't wait to hear!

That's ok Rob, you're here and that's all that matters:goodvibes

Wow that is an awesome accomplishment for Shanleigh! With marks like that I can definitely see her accomplishing her career goals :goodvibes

You're plans sound great! I can't imagine anything more magical than disney at Christmas!

Hey Chicky! Me too! I have to say I was happier with that career choice than the RCMP! Not that I wouldn't be the proudest mom ever, but you're first posting is usually up north and I would miss her terribly!

I can't wait to see the castle with the lights on it....I'll be a blubbering idiot!

I am in! Can't wait to see the new plans. When we were in Disney last month, I thought of you when we were in France and picked up our slushies of course! ::yes::

Yay:yay: I often think when I'm at that stand how many of my Dis-friends have stood in that exact spot and can't help but wish we could all be there together! Aren't they just the best drink on property?

Shanleigh sounds like an extraordinary young woman. I think she must get it from her mom. :goodvibes
Awww, you are just thew best Shannon:hug: I happen to know the same rings true for you....I see the love in your families eyes and it always brings a smile to my face!
How nice that you are able to get a discount on the room again! Flights are outrageous right now-$1000 will certainly help ease the pain of that.

I have to be honest, if I knew for sure Shanleigh's schedule would be ok, I would have booked the United flights yesterday! 469 is good for a flight out of Winnipeg to Orlando....the cheapest I have seen in the past is 381...but I just have to suck it up and wait until September!

Thanks Jacquie for the updated info.

Shan is clearly a wonderful and grounded young woman and things like that don't happen by accident. You should be very proud of her and yourself for raising her to be just that.

BTW if you are doing twitter reports when you're there, what is the twitter name. I'm not on twitter yet, just facebook, but in case I ever do decide to get twitter, it'd be great to follow along. I can't help updating on facebook when I'm down there too. :rolleyes1

Your volunteer work really touched me. That is just so awesome it's beyond words.

Can't wait for more details as we roll on towards December.

I am so very proud of her and thank you so much for your kind comments!

She is at work right now and I, like you, don't have twitter so I will get that to you later today!

I love those kids and all they need is love and guidance and someone to show them the way! They come from the worst of situations, situations that you cannot believe and if I can make their day a little brighten, I should! At Christmas we make sure they have hats, mitts, socks and one toy each...when we receive their thank you cards, they never mention the toy...only how warm they are with their new hats etc....When I am having "one of those days" I go into my cupboard and take out those cards and pictures and it never fails to brighten my day!

My sister and her family are coming over for dinner a little later and we're going to look at their Cruise plans today! I'm so excited for that!

:wave2: Hey Friend!

My apologies for being late to the party. As usual things are busy, busy, busy. But not too busy for Declan to have already started planning our next March break trip :rotfl2:

We'll be following along :coffee:

Joining in for this PTR! I absolutely love Disney at Christmastime!

Queen, great intros of you and your lovely daughter. Good for her and Jeff...that is great that they are at the top of their classes.

Can't wait to read more.

I have been a single mom to Shanleigh for her entire life and I do have to say how proud I am for the young lady she has turned into...she is my greatest gift!

:goodvibes She sounds like a wonderful, young lady.

I have worked for the same financial institution for 25 years and I love my job!
It's such a great thing to truly enjoy your job and the people you work with! :thumbsup2

When I'm not at work I enjoy volunteering at two inner city schools and I couldn't love those kids more. It's a reminder everytime I'm there just how lucky we are to have the lives we have.
What a wonderful thing for you to do! :)

Ok, so I've told you we're booked into Pop Century from Dec 7 - 21 but what I didn't tell you is what a great deal we got on this.

I'm trying POP for the first time on the trip this summer with my kids. ::yes::

Great intro to two wonderful people. :thumbsup2
Awwww Christmas at pop century! So excited for that! Ill be having flashbacks to my honeymoon! hehehe
How awesome you got such a great deal too!

Exciting! Which cruise is your sister and family going on?

Hope you're having a great week so far! :)

Thank you so much Michelle!
It's such a great thing to truly enjoy your job and the people you work with! :thumbsup2

Isn't it though? I always say we spend more time with them than our families :lmao:
What a wonderful thing for you to do! :)

I love it....I love those kids....they make my heart sing!

Aww honey, thanks! I can't wait....when I had my girl's trip we stayed at Pop and I remember the huge Christmas tree! The deal sure does help with the spending budget....as much as I say I'm saving that money, I'll spend it:lmao:

Exciting! Which cruise is your sister and family going on?

Hope you're having a great week so far! :)
Hey friend! They are going on the Fantasy....the week of the 17th they are doing Eastern Caribbean and the week of the 24th they are doing the Western Caribbean!

Had a great week, busy, but great! Happy Easter!

I usually stop my daily coffee runs too and have coffee before I leave the house...that's one the hardest for me! I love my morning coffee at work!

I'm glad you're here and I hope to bring that to you!

Happy Easter weekend everyone! We had a very quiet day around here yesterday. Shanleigh and Jeff went to church with his family and I stayed home and did the laundry and housework so we could enjoy the rest of the weekend! We have some running around to do today so I thought I better get this up before our day begins!

I left off with our choices for airfare and I had a quick peak yesterday to see if anything had changed and the direct flight with Westjet is now listed at $555 which for us is a really good price! Shanleigh got so excited and asked why I wasnt' booking it to which I had to remind my little darling that we don't know her schedule yet:confused3

Now, for those of you who are new to our reports, both of us aren't the best flyers...heck we're no where near good! The trip that we took, just the two of us, in September of 2010, we didn't sit together on the plane! I sat by the window in front of Shanleigh and we never spoke the entire flight! I make her nervous, she makes me nervous. This year tho she says she wants to sit together because 4 1/2 hours is a long time to be on a plane with no one to talk to!!

So, if we do end up booking that flight, it would get us into Orlando at 745pm which wouldn't leave us anytime to do anything but unpack and get settled. We would use ME but we would collect our luggage so we could organize, clean and be ready for a fresh start the next morning!

Now, if we end up flying Delta or United, both those flights would have us arriving early afternoon. We normally check out our room location, dump our carry-ons etc and head to.......

Downtown Disney for dinner here! This is a shot of our 2009 (the first trip that we all stayed using DVC points)trip with my sister and her family. The girls were so young....they are growing up too fast! Shanleigh would have been starting her grade twelve year when we returned from this one......hard to believe that's almost 4 years ago! Anyhoodle, I'll get off memory lane now.....

Once we are finished dinner we will probably, oh who am I kidding, we WILL shop a little at DTD....there is always things to buy afterall;)

Our first full day in the World will be spent here......EPCOT! This park has become a favourite of ours and considering the title of this PTR, I figured she should have her first GGS on her first full day here!

Here's another flashback pic.....again from 2009! I believe my youngest niece took this one considering the angle:rotfl2:

We will be having dinner in Italy at Via Napoli...now I say dinner, but I may decide to do a later lunch ADR here, but we'll see how the weather is! I have to keep reminding myself that we're not going in the heat of the summer so all day touring is a possibility. How Shanleigh will do it without her afternoon by the pool is still to be determined:rolleyes1

After dinner I will mostly likely grab a glass of Rosa Regale and we'll cop a squat on a bench and we'll watch the world go by....ever grateful for another trip to our happy place.

Hi Jacquie, I just wanted to pop in and with you and yours a very happy Easter.

It's definitely a tough trade off between arriving earlier vs a direct flight. Personally, I love the direct flights. It leaves less variables especially in the winter months. :goodvibes

I love that you don't want to waste time getting in that first GGS! :thumbsup2

I am just so proud of the young lady Shanleigh has become. I have loved "watching" her grow up the past few years. I remember when Jeff came into the picture, and I am so happy to see them still together and still so happy. They are both great kids...I mean adults:goodvibes. Sorry, sappy DISer moment there!:rotfl:

Getting a discount is so amazing!! We are having to patiently wait for discounts to come out for our next trip. We've already booked, of course, but still want to lower that price!

I'm not familiar with flights at all, since we are close enough to drive. If you book a flight and then the price drops after that, do you get money refunded? Or do you just have to take it at the price you booked?

2009, that was a good trip. I seem to recall some GGS were had on that trip as well.

Great update!

Hope you get a good price on your flight when it's time to book!

Raglan Road and Via Napoli are both favorites of ours....sounds like a wonderful first day you have planned.

Love the pictures and your trip down memory lane, time goes by too quickly!!

Lucky, lucky, lucky sister (and family) you have! An Eastern and Western cruise on the Fantasy!! What a dream :)

Wishing you and Shanleigh a very Happy Easter :wave2:
