OK, first the title is awesome!

It reminded me of a time at work when a girl was turning 19 (legal drinking age in Nova Scotia) and her boss sent out an email declaring she was "now legal". Everyone had a huge laugh over that one.

Anyway, I'm excited to be in at the beginning this time, not the end.

Yay...I'm so glad you like it Rob! I was having a tough time with this one! Our legal age is 18 so she's been good here for a while but you haven't lived until you've had a Grey Goose Slushie

The last time we went down to the states for the weekend, my sister and I wanted to grab a bottle of wine and Shanleigh had to stay in the van with my sister's girls because none of them were allowed in the liquor store....tough to remember when she can go here and buy it herself...oh who am I kidding, it's for me!

Sounds like Shanleigh is continuing to do amazing in school, obvious by the reasoning of your Dec or May dates. Is she still working as well? Queen, you have raised a beautiful individual, inside and out, as even those of us who have not met you in person (yet) can clearly see. Love the relationship you and Shanleigh have and thank you for sharing your vacations and memories with all of us!

Cheers to Shanleigh and a whole new delicious liquid world opening up to her in all of our favorite place on earth!

She is still working and as soon as University wraps up in April (I think her last exam is the 11th) she'll start to get more hours as well!

She is my pride and joy and thank you so much for your kind comments! I wish I had a scanner so I could scan some pics from our earlier trips....oh well

A couple of weekend ago we were at my sisters and we made magical star cocktails (one of our fav's from the world) and she only drank half of hers...I never have to worry about that one!!! LOL

I thought I would begin this update with a little background on those of you who don't know us! If you know us...you can skip this first part

We'll start off with Shanleigh who will be turning 21 at the end of October thus the reason for the title! She is finishing up her first year of University in April after taking a 2 year hiatus after high school. She hit the road running tho and is in the top 1% of her class...right now her GPA is 4.5%...she doesn't get this from me She is so committed to doing well at everything she does...obsessed is a good word. She is majoring in Criminal Justice and hopes one day to guard our borders working for the Canadian Border Security Agency! I will give you some facts on this girl of mine....she holds a second degree black belt in Taekwondo for which she won a silver medal at the Western Canadian Championships, she was in competitive cheerleading from grade six until she graduated and when she did graduate, she did it with an advanced degree...they called it the gifted program here which we all got a laugh out of! She has been dating her boyfriend Jeff (was in my 2011 TR) for 2 1/2 years and he is majoring in Kinesiology (don't think that's spelled right) and unfortnately he is travelling with his family to California for Christmas so won't be able to join us! Eventually Jeff would like to be a physio therapist...very smart boy as well, also at the top of his class!

Then there's me...what can I tell you. I have been a single mom to Shanleigh for her entire life and I do have to say how proud I am for the young lady she has turned into...she is my greatest gift! I have worked for the same financial institution for 25 years and I love my job! I have the most amazing staff and they make it a pleasure to go to work everyday! When I'm not at work I enjoy volunteering at two inner city schools and I couldn't love those kids more. It's a reminder everytime I'm there just how lucky we are to have the lives we have. If I could, I would take them all home with me but I can't so I do what I can!

Ok, that's us in a nutshell....now onto this PTR!! Ok, so I've told you we're booked into Pop Century from Dec 7 - 21 but what I didn't tell you is what a great deal we got on this. Some of you may remember that we went in May of 2012 a friend of my sister's works as a manager at WDW and was able to book us there for 40% off...she was kind enough to do it for us again for this trip! I can't thank her enough because it's a difference of almost a $1000. That will pay for our flights! Shanleigh wanted to stay at All Star Music on this trip because of the memories that it holds for us but it wasn't to be. You see, it was the first hotel we stayed at on our first visit in 1998!

We're keeping our fingers crossed that we will be able to take the Westjet direct flight from Winnipeg to Orlando but right now it's showing $660 return...not gonna happen. I've also checked both United thru Chicago and Delta thru Minneapolis and they are substantially cheaper so we'll wait and see. If we do take the direct flight we leave here at 255pm and arrive at MCO at 743pm, at least that's what it's showing now! I won't be able to book the airfare until September so hopefully by then Air Transat will also have their schedule posted.

Shanleigh is planning on bring her Macbook so she can update on FB and also her iPhone so you can follow her on Twitter if you like! She is addicted to that phone....I still have a blackberry but maybe by the time we go I'll have switched too

There you have it the beginnings of what will hopefully be an exciting PTR for all of you to read! There will be at least one trip to the USA for a shopping weekend and any other real like things that may come up over the next few months!

So great that S has continued working while in school.

What a wonderful feeling it must be that drinking is not a concern for you! Not even finishing one favorite Disney mock drink is a great sign!!

LOVE the intro and love the extra bits of info included...didn't realize (or perhaps remember) that S is a black belt! Wow!! Very impressive. And I love that you volunteer at inner city schools, that is wonderful.

Your plans look great so far and yes, I am slightly possibly hoping you go the Chicago route with possibly a layover?! honestly, I hope you are able to get to WDW the quickest and least expensive way possible!

It sounds like you have a great daughter! Its never a bad thing to completely throw yourself into something that is positive and it sounds like that is exactly what she does. Good for her!!

That is great news about the room discount. We have only ever done 1 other trip and we stayed at Pop. We loved it!!
