So this is who she is.
This was my first time seeing one of the videos and I'm afraid I couldn't get past the 2nd tech difficulties. I LOVE Disney "cheese" (One of my all time fave movies is "Enchanted", HIGH on the cheese level) but it just didn't feel like Disney brand cheese. Am I missing anything by not watching? if I HAVE to stomach it for good info, I will, but I'd prefer not to.

We like the campyness, and the lightheartedness. She is acting in a way that Disney wants her to act. I hope people realize that, and don't fault the person playing Devee.

I remember a post where Stacy was in production, and was being told over and over to "act this way"...continual direction.

When I first saw her I immediately thought she was inspired by Miss Richfield 1981, a drag performer I saw a few years ago in Provincetown (who is actually very funny, btw). My theory is she was supposed to be played by a man in drag, but this being Disney they wouldn't go for that. When you think about it, if Devee WAS played by a man in drag it would be much better!

Off topic, I apologize, but Miss Richfield is going to be on the new episode of Cake Boss, I think it airs tonight or tomorrow. Saw the commercial for it. I don't regularly watch the show, so don't know exactly when it airs.

As for Deevy, I watch the videos, but only to see WDW. She is too campy for me.

Just tried to watch the video but stopped because it was so bad! I hated it and thought it was insulting to us owners because it did not capture any of the reasons as to why I purchased DVC and the magic of Disney. Normally I like to watch videos of WDW and like campy movies. The jokes were lame and there was no Christmas magic!

Actually, watching a valet parking attendant promote DVC would be more interesting that this lame character. "Hi, I'm Bruce and I am a valet parking attendant at WDW. I haven't been very busy lately, so let me show you around so you can learn more about the best kept secret in vacations..."

That type of information is better provide via mail or email and save the cost of creating the crappy videos. Give me back the perks that I don't mind paying dues for and keep the crap!

I just watched it so I could cast my vote. I really wanted to like it because I love all things Disney, but I couldn't even watch the whole thing. I agree with whoever said that if this is what they are spending our dues on then I want my money back.
