I will be visiting Orlando again this summer and the Sheraton Vistana Villages on I Drive south look very nice indeed.

I am just after opinions as they seem very popular.

Do these apartments have air con? Silly question I know, just in their brochure they say the apartments have ceiling fans.

Thanks

Kevin.

I'm staying there in May this year and did a lot of research into where to stay. Search for the hotel on www.tripadvisor.com and you'll see a multitude of happy punters :D

We looked at buying into Vistana Resort - as opposed to Vistana Village- they definitely had A/C. I'd be surprised if they don't.

I stayed at Vistana Villages in October 2002 and they were fantastic. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was just WOW. It had a full kitchen with all the appliances, washer/dryer in the little utility room (which was handy). Main bedroom with huge kingsize bed and jacuzzi next to it, large TV, washbasin area and en suite bathroom. The other bedroom had 2 double beds, own bathroom and another large TV. The living/dining room was open plan off the kitchen and had a glass dining table, setee and chairs, another TV and video and a screened in balcony.

There pool was great with waterfall feature and hot tubs. I think there was another pool for adults.

Location was good if you have a car. Publix supermarket and the outlet mall are a 5 minute drive away. 5 minutes to Seaworld and about 15 to either Universal or Disney. The road is fairly quiet as well so you don't get in any traffic jams.

I work as a travel agent and have been on an educational trip to Orlando where we looked at lots of properties. I have also stayed at various other properties on my own holidays including Vistana Resort which was also good however Vistana Villages would be my first choice every time and I have sent a lot of clients there since my own visit.

GO.....you will love it :D

PS The apartments definitely have air con...I don't think there's anywhere in Florida that doesn't!

Thanks for that, it's a toss up between Vistana and The Hard Rock Hotel.

Helen, thanks for your advice, I'll look at the Vistana I think.

Ooooh Hard Rock Hotel is fab as well. We had a look round there on my last visit and this is somewhere I will probably stay in the future for the front of line access at Universal. Vistana is the more spacious option though.

Kevin , I would agree with Helen the FOTL access is VERY helpful. If you're thinking about spending a few days in US/IOA and it's at a busy time of year you may want to split your vacation and spend say 10/11 nights at Vistana and 2/3 at the Hard Rock for your main Universal days. Kinda gives you the best of both worlds :D

Thanks. This will be my 4th trip and FOTL access is not so important for me as my child is only 3 and we are going in September and the queing isn't as hard going.

I thought about changing hotels but don't fancy having to unpack and pack my suitcases more than once.

Problem is I've always wanted to stay at HRH but the Vistana looks the better option considering price and space.

What do you think??

Vernon is right. A couple days at Hark Rock (greathotel) will give you FOTL.
Then move to the suites with w/d and more space.

As much as I want to stay at the HRH 14 days is expensive and the rooms are quite small are they not?

Are there laundry facilities at the HRH?
