Sheraton Vistana

Am running out of time to exchange a week of timeshare we have already relinquished through Interval International. Am seriously considering trading for a week in a one-bedroom at the Sheraton Vistana in March. What matters to us mostly is that it is CLEAN and convenient to Disney (for instance, how close to Downtown Disney? How frequent and dependable are buses to and from Disney parks? Bus to Universal?) I seriously doubt that we will touch a pool (have one at home and prefer to use this vacation time for things we can't do at home, that is, visit Disney and possibly Universal. Are the one bedrooms spread throughout the resort or in a newer or older section? Any input would be much appreciated!

There are definitely one-bedroom units in the Cascades phase of the resort and probably in the Lakes. You can call 1-800-vistana to confirm any other phases having one bedroom units. Cascades is fairly new and very nice. I'd try for that section. DH and I stayed in a Cascades one-bedroom unit in 2001 with two children and while a little cramped, it was much better than a hotel room! There are buses available and DTD is really close. We frequently saw people walking there. It's probably 1 mile from the front gate (I'm guessing) of Vistana to the turnoff from 535 into DTD. Vistana is a really good source of information though and will give you directions anyplace. I called in advance 3 or 4 years ago so that I could get appointments for my daughter and I to have manicures as a treat and they found me a place and got me phone numbers and directions before I even got there. Vistana runs a shuttle back and forth to the parks everyday too.
