Other then a few miles difference from WDW and the number of pools at the SVR, is there any reason to stay at one over the other? - Thanks

well the Villages are newer.

but the resort is closer to WDW.

I am not sure about restuarants at the village?

I don't believe the Villages has an onsite restaurant. You can get food at the general store there. The main Vistana has a General Store as well as 2 onsite restaurants and a Pizza Hut (all of which will deliver meals right to your villa---thus you have room service there). I believe there are probably more activities offered at the main resort as well. And Spicey is right......the Villages is much newer.

Have never stayed at either but as others have said Villages is newer, plus the location on South I drive is perfect.

We've stayed at both. The villages are nicer and newer. This topic has been discussed a number of times recently. Do a search for lots of good feedback.

We have stayed at both. The Vistana Villages units are newer, and a smaller resort in comparison to the Vistana Resort.

My family prefers the Vistana Resort because of the activities. We have stayed here a few times and just hung at at the resort. LOTS of activities for the kids (big and small). You could pool hop to a different pool each day. The summer time is the best. Also, we have found the staff at the VR to be more friendly and the maintenance much better.

Either location (VV or VR) is great for access to Disney parks.

That is good to hear. We stayed at SVR last year and are trying SVV this year. How does the SVV compare to the Marriot timeshares?

they are both very nice but we do like the marriotts better. They offer a more complete package for the family IMHO.

Cannot comment on the SVV but own 3 weeks at SVR and have enjoyed it for 16 years. It has so much to do, of course if you are going to DW it is very handy for that too. We went down for 2 weeks one year and never left the resort except for groceries (my husband had just lost his job). The restaurants are very good, the pools, mini golf, tennis courts, basketball courts and scheduled activities will keep the kids busy from sun-up to sun-down. The numerous watering holes might appeal to the adults of the group. Yes, it is older and I feel that the personal touch that used to exist before Sheraton took it over is gone, but it is still very well maintained and a beautiful LARGE resort. Sorry, I got long winded. :rolleyes1

By the way, we will be down there the week of CHristmas this year! Can't wait.
