Sheraton Vistana Resort's Diamond Lane

I just wanted to say that the pool that has the slide is the Falls Pool. Also, the Courts pool is in between the Super Pool and the Falls Pool - so you will have 4 pools within an easy walk if you are assigned Spas!

If you go to this site, and look in the listing of resort amenities, you will see a notation called resort map:

http://www.starwoodvo.com/resorts/amenities.jsp?resortID=5&view=#

It takes some playing with, but the side controls let you zoom in and move around the map so you can see the numbers of individual units. In the Springs, which we're partial to, you can see the units which front on the pond (my preference) as opposed to the pool (not our choice). We like the springs because there's a little pool there, which isn't too crowded, and little arcade and playground, and it's all manageable.

You can also see the spas and the falls sections, as well as the "older" and "newer" areas. Should help you to be informed when you're checking in about your villa.

There used to be a map on their site which was printable. someone might have it.

Thanks again for all the info! Last question, did your unit sleep 6 or 8?

Our unit in the Spas was a 2 BDR that slept 8. It had a King bed in the master bedroom and a little lounge type chair with a foot rest. The second bedroom had 2 double beds. Then there was a sleeper sofa in the living room which we didn't use. The unit was very large. The living room was big - the bedrooms had plenty of room to move around and the screened porch was large, too. It had a table and 4 chairs on it. I have to say I was impressed by how clean the screened porch was - it was very nice and looked out on the pond behind us. My kids thought this was hilarious - there was a goose decoy floating in the pond right outside our porch. They kept saying we had our own personal fake goose!:p

Hi, MOG

If I remember correctly didn't you go this July? Do you have any pics?

Thanks!

I don't know which to request the Springs or the Spas?

I'm checking in on Saturday!

Someone said that the spa section was a Friday Check-in. Does anyone know what section is a Sunday check-in????We have skyauction ressies for a Sunday check-in. Thanks Donna

A Sunday check-in at Vistana is a fairly safe bet. The oldest (but recently renovated) Courts section is all Saturday check-ins. There are 2 unit types with Sunday check-in's - 6/6 units are in the Falls and have twin beds in the second bedroom, 8/6 units are in the Palms, Springs, Fountains, Lakes or Cascades and 2 double beds in the second bedroom.

Yes, we were there from July 23-30 and then spent a week on-site at Disney from the 30th-August 6th. I don't have any pictures of the unit unfortunately. All I have is a few pictures of the pool. Sorry! I wasn't very good at picture taking that week we were at Vistana!

I didn't see the Springs section, we were in the Spas section and liked it. If you have a Saturday check-in you will probably be put in the Courts section. That is where my parents were. It looked a little older on the outside, but the inside of their unit was fine - not old or worn down at all.

we checkedi n saturday and got springs

Just curious, We are scheduled to check in on a Saturday but due to work restraints will not check in until Monday. What building do you think we will get? LOL will we get the rundown leftovers?

Serena,

My guess is, if you are a weekly stay, like a time-share week, it will not matter what day you actually arrive. You will most likely be assigned a unit on the rotation of the week you have booked.

This will mean that you will be assigned a unit in a building color coded in BLUE. It is usually hard to get Cascades or Lakes (the newest). ALL of Courts (the oldest) is designated BLUE for a Sat-Sat week. (Check out the interactive map on the Starwoodvo.com web site)

If you have any request, you should contact their Diamond Lane check-in system well before your trip.

Good Luck!

I will be booking through the spg. site. We are booking a room with 2 twins in the 2nd bedroom, I guess we will get courts or falls. I just read that courts was recently redecorated, does anyone know if falls was. We will be checking in on a friday. I think falls would be better for us because a better location to the main area. I wouldn't mind spa either except they have double beds in the 2nd bedroom. Has anyone seen the new decor in courts or falls?:boat:

According to my VR map that I brought back on August 1st, the sections for Friday checkin that would probably have 2 twins in the 2nd bedroom are Spas, Palms and Springs. Falls is for Sunday check-in and Courts is Saturday. IMHO the better section to stay in would be Spas for location only. I, however, haven't stayed there so I cannot say anything about the condition of the units. You can checkout the map on the Vistana website and you will see where the Spas is located.

I think I will call the resort and see when or if spas has been recently renovated. I know I don't want to stay in palms. I will have to look into springs. Thank you for all your information, I has been very helpful.:cheer2:
