Sheraton Vistana Resort ????

Booked a reservation through the Sheraton website arriving on a Monday for 6 nights in late August. I booked a 2 bedroom villa. I am traveling with DH and 2 DD in their twenties. Any suggestions of what building or area to request? Can I use the Diamond Lane form to make any requests or do I call the resort directly. We are looking for an updated villa, (not a lock off) in a quiet area near a pool. Also, both girls use the gym daily so should I request an area near the pool and the gym? Thank you for any and all replies. I have found great info on these boards!

I booked the Vistana through hotwire for a trip in May - I used Diamond Lane to make requests as my Mom has some mobility issues. They were really great in honoring my requests. We were in the Lakes section which was very quiet - near both the Fountains and Lakes pools. We loved it! If you want to be closer to the marketplace and restaurant you may want to request Cascades.

All the sections have a pool, and there is a gym for every 2 sections. Some pools are better than others (but it depends on what you want; quiet, active, sunny, shady); each pool has a different crowd. You are never more than a short walk from anything at the resort. I like the amenities on the South side better (marketplace, restaurants), but that's my preference; others like the North side because they like the Food Court or the zero entry pool.

There is no bad section at Vistana. All sections should be updated (well, at least the last batch of units should be closed for renovations) when you arrive. Renovations are scheduled to complete in September.

Relax, and enjoy the resort.

Would like a quiet pool with sun (for the girls) and shade or umbrella for myself. I prefer a quiet section as we could walk or drive to the more active areas if we want. Thanks again for any suggestions.

The falls pool is somewhat quieter than the others, and there is a gym upstairs.

THere's also a quieter pool over by the Cascades area. It's not the cascades pool though, but just past there. (Maybe the villas?)The only problem with this one is that everytime we've been there the lounge chair hogs seem to be out in full force.

Overall Vistana is not very noisy. If you want really quiet, request a top floor room away from the elevator (if you're in cascades). The majority of the noise is from noisy guests coming or going, or the leaf blowers from all the maintenance guys in the AM!

Beth, my recommendations exactly for the quieter pools. The second pool you are referring to is the Springs pool. Most pools have a few umbrellas or chair shades, but they get snapped up pretty quickly.

Thanks! I was having a mind fart and couldn't remember the name! My parents own in Cascades, and we generally are in a building close to there.

Now that DS can swim we spend most time at the falls for the water slide, or the super pool for the zoom slide and the activities!
