Just wondering what kind of supplies are in the kitchen for cooking etc. ? is there a slow cooker etc. And I was wondering what sort of supplies I should plan on picking up or bringing from home for our stay. I had one other question but it has slipped my mind at the moment. Thanks Kat

I know what it is now, wireless internet what do they charge for it? Do they have in room safes? Is there a secure enterance to the resort ie guardhouse etc. Thanks KAt

We just returned from two weeks at the Vistana. There is no charge for Wi Fi Internet connection. It was wonderful to just open the laptop, follow the directions and have my email.

We didn't eat in too much so supplies seemed to be basic. A few pots, pans, container for making lemonaide, and pizza sheet. I seem to remember glass pyrex dishes. If by slow cooker you mean a crock pot than no. You might want to check their site for exact supplies.

Have fun. I wish we were still there!

the safe is the master closet.

they had a cookie sheet - lots of timeshares don't have this one.

Yes, there are guardhouses. After 8 pm, you have to stop and show your license along with your tag. Before 8 pm, you just show your tag and the gate opens!

you get a parking permit - put that in the front window.

depends upon the guard after hours. some guards will ask for a drivers license (which is still because the permit does not have your name on it) - so they can't tell....

the safe is the master closet.

Unfortunately not in every villa......the older ones don't have them. You can lock valuables in a safe in the lobby (call security).

Between these two photos I shot last summer, you might be able to make the villa inventory out :

MinnieForMe - have you posted a review of Sheraton Vistana Resort since you just returned? we leave in 3 weeks and I'm kinda nervous having read some not so great reviews - I'd love to see a review from you. thanks.

tallvine......what kind of bad reviews have u read ?
I have owned at Vistana since 1994 and stayed there every year since then. Is there any specific questions/concerns you have ?

what sections have the safes and which ones don't??? Going back to the Vistana in August via a RCI exchange, Sunday to SUnday? What sections should I expect? Thanks

I've been checking the reviews in trip advisor and to be honest people either love it or hate it - there doesn't seem to be any " in the middle" reviews. The biggest complaints seem to have to do w/ whether or not you get a newer bldg ( cascades or lakes) , cleanliness - some say it's spotless - others that it's filthy ( again - no in between) and customer service -some say it's fantastic other say it terrible. so... I've been alittle nervous since I've planned this whole trip and I don't want everyone looking at me and saying
" you chose this???" the one thing everyone seems to agree on is that the pool area is great.

Vinny,
I am certain the Cascades, Lakes and Fountains II have in-room safes. We have never had a room in Fountains I that had a safe. We've also stayed in the Spas section and did not have a safe.

I am assuming....having never stayed in any of the older sections,(though I did tour the Courts and Palms), that nothing Fountains I and older has an in-room safe. But if someone had an older section and did have one, please correct me.

To tallvine. I have honestly never had a dirty unit----even when I stayed in the Spas (which is one of the oldest sections). If you do encounter dirtiness, I would immediately call the front desk and ask to speak to the head manager on duty----even before you unpack. Do a quick inspection of the villa. But dirtiness is something I've never encountered there after about 13-14 stays there. Out-dated ? In need of upgrading ? Yes. Several of the sections are currently in que for major rehabs. The Fountains I should be done by the time I get there or almost be done. Lakes is done. The Fountains II, Cascades, Falls and Springs will be following next year. Other sections are in discussion about it. Each section is owned by it's own association and votes must be made to upgrade. So the newer sections are "fresher" or more modern. This can in turn make the older sections appear a bit "tired" ? But dirt has never been an issue for us on our vacations.

Hope this helps to put your mind at ease a little bit.

Take care,
