Sheraton Safari...opinions, please!

hi, we stayed here for three weeks in oct 02, it was a lovely hotel very clean and the staff were very friendly, we ate often in the hotel restaurant and never had a bad meal, there are lots of restaurants nearby as well, the kids loved the pool, if you can i would recommend requesting a room with a pool view as some of the outside room overlook the car parks not a pretty view!!, if you have any questions please feel free to ask susie

Looking around on the web, there's some mixed reviews but I guess you could say that about most hotels...the thing I am most concerned about (not necessarily with the Safari but generally) is security, esp. coming back late at night and general quality of service...It's our first time in Orlando and as you can imagine, we want it to be poifect!

Sheraton Safari is a good hotel. It's listed as 4 star in the Virgin brochure, but I would think it's probably a really good 3.5 star. The rooms are a reasonable size, its location is superb and the pool area is great, especially if you have children or people who love the pool in your party. There are safes in each room, always good to know.

There are loads of restaurants nearby, a Sizzler buffet-style restaurant right next door in fact which is great for breakfast before you hit the parks if you're into the buffet style breakfast. There's the Crossroads dining and shopping area 7-8 mins walk away (restaurants, Goodings supermarket, excellent Mini Golf) and Walgreens and Eckerds pharmacies a couple of mins walk away too.

The hotel itself if very pleasant, we've stayed there twice now, last October and the October before. The staff are always very helpful. We've had a pool view room both times which is nice. They have a reasonable laundry room there, alongside the pool, so you can wash and swim at the same time! The Casablanca restaurant is ok - we've only had one breakfast in there which was a good buffet, but limited choice. If I remember our DD ate free.

hi, we felt safe returning to the hotel when we got back late at night, it was well lit up and so where the car parks, we couldnt fault the service, every one there was very friendly and we where always made welcome when we arrived back, the parrot in the reception was always good for a laugh it shouts at you to talk to it, susie
