Has anyone stayed here recently? It looks really nice but looks can be deceiving I know. My sister in law recently stayed at Studio City and really liked it but we wanted to be closer to Disney. Is this a nice clean place? Are the restaurants good? Any information good and bad would help. Thank you.

We stayed there at Christmas and had a great time. The room is a bit basic, no fridge or microwave, but the pool area is good with a fun slide. We only had breakfast there which was a bit so-so, but there are plenty of other eating places nearby. Try to request a pool room view, because it is pleasant to relax on the balcony overlooking the pool rather than the parking lot! You had to pay extra for the in room safe so factor that cost into any expenditure. It wasn't a great deal, but I can't remember the exact amount.Everything was clean, and room service was fine.

Thanks so much CarolynU. I think the clean part is what I was most worried about. This will be our first off-site visit and we're a bit nervous. This hotel looked so cute and I really liked this location. By chance would you happen to know what the odds will be in getting our multiple rooms as close together as we can? For some reason we always have a problem with this at the Disney resorts.

I stayed there last year for one night. I joined the sheraton rewards club thing before I went down and got upgraded to a suite on arrival. The room was pretty nice. I'd go there again.

I liked the furnishings in the Studio City better, but the Safari was more convenient to Disney and it had a lot of places to eat within walking distance. We were not able to get two adjoining rooms, but they gave us two rooms on the same floor. We've stayed in the suites and in the "deluxe" regular rooms in the Safari, and prefer the deluxe rooms even if they are smaller. They just seemed nicer in terms of furnishings. The restaurant at the Safari was also good.

The Studio City has a fun "theme," and the furnishings and view of the city are great.

When you guys talk about the Studio City is that the Sheraton close to Universal?

Thanks everyone. You have been very helpful. I think I will try to book this hotel. It sounds like it should be pretty much what we want. And to answer your question Mickey's Sunshine, Studio City is very close to Universal. If it were closer to Disney I know we'd try for that one. My son and son in law are both huge movie freaks!
